Go To College Free

Today, many people just don't have time in their busy schedules to go to school. They might have to work a job forty hours a week, or they may be busy caring for others or raising children. The best way for them to get their bachelor's degree is probably by going to an online college.

Even though some students may need to get their bachelor's from an online degree program, they might feel that they will miss out on some of the things that make college a special time, like meeting new people or having school spirit. Maybe they want to develop mentoring relationships with their instructors or have experiences with their classmates. Being in an online degree program doesn't necessarily mean having to relinquish all of that. With a little effort, you can make the most of your free college classes.

Free College Classes

Online colleges generally have classes that have some type of discussion board or forum over the Internet. Be sure to take advantage of scheduled discussion boards; it's a great way to meet your classmates and exchange ideas. You can even find out from your school's IT department if they can set up an "after hours" private chat room for your class. That way you can set up an online study session, or even just a roundtable for brainstorming projects you may be working on.

If you're a good student, you could consider volunteering to tutor other students who are in your bachelor's degree program. You might run an online tutoring session for students who need a little extra help; it's a good way for you to develop mentoring skills. Many free college education programs have paid tutoring programs; maybe you could even make a little extra money to help your peers.

College For Free

Be sure to stay in touch with your professors. Even if you are hundreds of miles apart, communication when you are dealing with people is often the key to success. Ask your professors for feedback on your assignments and papers; they'll appreciate your willingness to be involved and your ability to use constructive criticism to your advantage. If it's at all possible, see about scheduling a face to face meeting once a semester as you work toward your degree.

If your free online college has students who live within driving distance of one another, it might be fun to schedule an activity outside of classroom hours. Meeting at a park and having an activity like a volleyball game is a good way to interact with your online college classmates. You might be surprised at all the things you have in common beyond your bachelor's degree.
