About Goal Organiser

How it started

I have used a lot of organisation tools in my time, both online and offline, simple lists through to complicated systems. I have never been entirely satisfied with any of them. They all lack one major feature.

I am terrible at prioritising. I find it impossible to decide what to do first.

No matter what system I was using, I ended up simply listing all the things I wanted to do, and then stopping. I couldn't quite work out how to go from a list of to do items which were usually in a random order, to figuring out which one to start with.

I tried a several bizarre systems to try to figure out where to start but none of them worked quite well enough, and important things were never at the top of the list.

I decided that I needed a better system, and I planned out in mind what it would have to do in order to be just right. What factors it would have to take into account, what options it would need to give me in order for me to use it efficiently.

I came up with a system that I thought might work out, and it ran around my brain for over a year. I really became attached to this imaginary system, and finally I have made it come to life.

At last, I have a system where I can enter all my to do list items, and the system works out what is more important, what I should do first. I can finally start to get on with doing the things on my list in a reasonably sensible order.

I can finally begin to work towards my goals.
