Everyone likes to set goals and make new year's resolutions, but it's often hard to meet them or finish what you start. I would say sometimes that is because we set really lofty goals for ourselves. If we lower our expectations and actually finish something, we'll be in a better place to meet a hight goal for next time.

All my goals for 2010 revolve around writing and creating for the internet and for my family books that I self-publish. Lots to do!

I set goals for myself all the time. Some I reach, others... I have found the act of setting goals, even if I don't reach them, makes a difference. It's time to sit back and evaluate my 2009 goals and start planning for the new year. You've given me some new ideas.
Thanks. And thank you for the blessing on The Victory Garden. I appreciate it.

With the New Year creeping up on us faster than most of us would like, I can’t think of a better way to start off the new year than to start setting up 2010 the right way by setting great goals for the new year.

Congrats on Giant, Inks! (I DO know your real name, it's just that this is what I have called you from the very beginning ;) Now go get that Giant 100! I think you definitely have inspired me to set those writing goals. As a writer I tend to spend more time "thinking" than writing, which is not really the goal now is it? I will be with new found enthusiasm that I .. well .. do something.

I only just now learned of Turner's passing and am headed to the memorial page next. I'm so truly sorry, Carrie.

Congrats on achieving your goal of becoming a Giant Squid!! That's a big one and your committment paid off. (I knew you would do it)

Great lens! (I'm lensrolling it to my Resolutions lens- Melted January). I'm with you on the novel goal- I have managed to do Nanowrimo for three years but I only write a zero draft- which is just a mess of thoughts and me trying to hash out a plot. I'm still editing my first attempt from 2006.

    Nicely done & blessed.
    You've made me think!

Great layout on this lens. I have other goals but just cannot see past the 30 June at the moment ;)

You've set some great goals. I'm sure we will see an "accomplished" logo for the Giant Squid this time around.

I am with you about becoming a Giant. By the time I get there It may be out of fashion.
Or the rules will change and it will still be out of reach. I am sure you will make it in June with such expert help. I always like your lenses.

Great sounding goals. It's always good to mix scholastic and professional goals with "self" goals. It's too easy for many of us to forget the "self" part!

Great idea for a lens. I have almost an identical set of goals! Except becoming a size14 - I'm a boy, you see! lol. Oh and my book-writing goal is non-fiction rather than a novel. Good luck with these - I look forward to hearing about your successes!

Thank you! That means a lot :)

Thanks for sharing your goals for 2009. I have been thinking of doing a similar lens myself. Can't decide. Great lens!

Interesting set of goals. I would never even dare contemplating a novel. Beyond 10000 words I get lost in what I'm doing... I'm better with short pieces (perfect for squidoo).

I do think you would deserve giant squid status - especially because of your contribution to the community.

Another great lens hon, hope you achieve all your goals. Happy New Year!! Love Jude xx

Amazing - we have very similar goals for 2009. The "writing" section of Squidoo is one area I plan to explore more in the early part of 2009, so I guess I will see you there as well!
