God of War Chains of Olympus is the third of the God of War series, but the first for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). You get to play Kratos, the hot hottie being punished by the gods.
God of War is a basic hack'n slash game with cool boss fights. You get to unlock special moves, badass weapons and combo attacks through the game and use them on boss fights.
The storyline is centered around Kratos' service to the Greek gods in a fight against Morpheus, who steals the sun god, Helios, from the sky and plunges the land into darkness.
Throughout the game you get to take on basilisks, giants, gods,and LOTS of Persians and undead.
You'll get about 6 really cool weapons with their own special combos and you get to collect feathers and eyes to increase health and magic.

Strap on the weapons of Kratos once again as you face-off with the most terrifying creatures from Greek mythology in the first portable God of War! Developed from the ground up as an original story, Chains of Olympus will take you to lands never before seen by any mortals during Kratos's 10 years of servitude to the masters of Olympus. The gods have been rendered nearly powerless, and you will be forced to choose between your personal redemption and saving the world from certain destruction - each choice leads to different endings to the game. Use your favorite moves from the original, or try out new brutal combat moves exclusively for the PSP.

The Plot Thickens
The cool thing about the God of War storyline is that it includes a bit about Greek mythology, which is a neat topic. The gods' relationships are pretty accurately depicted, meaning you'll learn how the gods are related, and brief bits of story about them.
Mini-movies throughout the game enhance the story line and give you a feel for the characters, particularly Kratos and his daughter, Calliope.
The beginning of the game starts out strong with a boss fight almost immediately. You get to learn the controls with on-screen help, and fight some pretty mean dudes:

In-game puzzles are smattered throughout each level, and you have to solve them to advance. For the most part they're pretty easy, but I found myself stumped a time or two. GameFAQs has a great God of War walkthrough for just those moments, btw.
God of War is definitely not for children, though. Early on in the game you get to pleasure two women, and though it doesn't show the dirty deed you do get some pretty explicit sounds.
There's also lots of blood, and guts...and bloody guts, etc. Definitely more graphic than I'd want my kids to see.
God of War was one of the first PSP games I played and it's definitely one of the best. The graphics, as you can see from the screenshots, are smokin'! The voiceovers are good and the cinematics are fantastic.
My only major complaint is how short the game is. I paid $40 for what turned out to be about 6 hours of gameplay - a big disappointment. That said, the graphics, game play and sheer fun of wiping out bad guys is still worth the cost.

Before you buy the game, you can download the Demo right to your PSP if you have WiFi capabilities.
To get there, make sure you've updated to the most current version of the PSP software by going to System on the left and scrolling all the way up to Network Update.
If you're updated, from your main screen scroll all the way right to PlayStation Network and down to PlayStation Store. Select Demos on the left and you should find God of War Chains of Olympus demo. It's a pretty big download (164MB) but if you're on the fence about buying God of War, this is sure to convince you to go out and get it!
