God Bless America is the ultimate prayer, affirmation (& Law Of Attraction statement) for our Great Nation

Ever wonder how many times "God Bless America," this prayer and request has been made to the Divine?

Ever consider that those billions of requests might have something to do with why America (and Americans) have been so uniquely blessed?

I have.  And this lens is about how a love for America and the Law of Attraction come together as "God Bless America!"

Why "God Bless America" is a Prayer & a Law of Attraction Request

I love America. I'm a lawyer and love reading about America's history, the huge success of this Great Experiment, and the personal sacrifices that were made for it. All of this information gives me a historical, big-picture perspective of current events.

In addition, I've read (and practice) a law of attraction (now known as "The Secret") approach to life. It compliments, rather than competes with, my spirituality.

So then, it occurred to me - years of Americans singing, praying, praising, affirming, every day, several times a day, with commitment, positive expectation, and enthusiasm - "God Bless America!"

The lightbulb went off! That is some serious positive affirmation going on for a very long time by millions of people every day.

It is a recognition that there is a Higher Power, a Universe, God, an Divine Energy through which we are all connected. It is also a REQUEST. And, it has always been made with the highest level of Vibration Energy - positive expectation and Gratitude.

American's have always been grateful for their freedom, for the unique opportunity that our citizens claimed, earned, defended and still enjoy.

One Book to Summarize American Spirit, Courage and Conviction

Every American would benefit from understand the deep personal sacrifice that has been made in the face of danger. In 1942, when the preparations began, the Allieds weren't winning the War. In June 1944, they still weren't winning the War. By all rational odds, the battle should not have gone to the Allieds. But it did. Why? Courage and Conviction.

Does "God Bless America" mean "I hope God ruins you other people" too?

I think not.

Blessing someone or something raises that person up - thereby raising up all others whom they touch.

And yet, so much of the media and anti-Iraq-war people believe that it does.

It means so many things at different times.

In wartime it means, keep my children safe (because I know others are out to hurt them). It means send your Spirit to the ones who would see freedom destroyed so that they may cease their destruction. It means send your Spirit to stir the courage of those who seek to have freedom and peace reign.

In peacetime it means, continue to shower us with the blessings of abundance of freedom, health, productivity, peace, Spirit, and financial wealth.

"God Bless America" lyrics by Irving Berlin

American's rose up the daily prayer, God Bless America, long before Irving Berlin made the prayer/phrase/affirmation/request famous in 1938.

These lyrics are from lyricsfreek.com.

While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free.
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer:

God bless america, land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless america,
My home sweet home.

According to the Library of Congress:

"America's unofficial national anthem was composed by an immigrant who left his home in Siberia for America when he was only five years old. The original version of "God Bless America" was written by Irving Berlin (1888-1989) during the summer of 1918 at Camp Upton . . ."

Originally sung by Kate Smith, November 10, 1938

"Over There" written by George M. Cohan
OVER THERE
(Chorus)
Over there, over there,
Send the word, send the word over there -
That the Yanks are coming,
The Yanks are coming,
The drums rum-tumming
Ev'rywhere.
So prepare, say a pray'r,
Send the word, send the word to beware.
We'll be over, we're coming over,
And we won't come back till it's over
Over there.
"You're a Grand Old Flag" music and lyrics by George M. Cohan
You're A Grand Old Flag

You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

Keeping Sending those Requests!!!

If you are a traditional American who loves saying, in prayer or at ball games or just out of habit, "God Bless America," keep doing it!

If you are a "new age" American who seeks to apply more and more Law of Attraction principles to your life, keep saying "God Bless America!"

If you are a person somewhere in the spectrum between the two, keep praying, requesting and affirming "God Bless America!"

Every single "God Bless America!" helps.

Yes, GOD Bless America - So very true! GOD Bless Our Troops, especially those In Harm's Way; they fight, serve to defend Our Freedom, and Freedom around the world. GOD...Please forgive America, too - for the millions of babies slaughtered in the name of "choice." Guess, if you use that argument, Adolph Hitler had a choice as well. I will ALWAYS believe what he did to be the worst form of EVIL. Forgive us for allowing athiests to attack, remove Your Word from buildings and lives of Our Childrens; Heaven forbid we offend them.

GOD, may Countless Americans turn our faces and our lives towards YOU. May we always be found to offer Freedom, and NEVER be ashamed or deny Your Love, and Your Word. GOD, may Christians in this Nation stand for justice and freedom with the Love of Jesus Christ for everyone, without excuse or apology; NOW is the time to stand, and may we not fail You.

    Yes...GOD Bless America! John 3:16...

Current Events blurb: BBC quote of the century: "When Peace Returns to the Middle East"

About 6 months ago, I actually heard a BBC reported utter these words. She said, at the end of a report, that the citizens in Iraq were looking forward to the day that "peace returns to the Middle East."

When, in the last 5000 years, was there EVER peace in the Middle East? Never.

And, it didn't exist under the Taliban or under Saddam Hussein. What DID reign was terror and torture. Ask the mothers and daughters who were raped under Hussein's terroristic rule if they would like to see that kind of "peace" return. Ask the mothers and fathers of the sons who were kidnapped into the Hussein's "army," if they want that "peace" to return. Ask the 98% of Iraqi's who woke up every morning filled with fear that saying the wrong to the wrong person would land them in a hellish jail or execution, torture, or worse - torture of their loved ones.

I never want to see that kind of "peace" return to Iraq (or Afganistan).

Yes, thousands of Iraqi's are losing their lives in defending their new-found freedom. The loyalists to terror and torture crave the power that a dictatorship brings (in truth, that's all that they know) - and are willing to kill their innocent civilian citizens of their own country to return the country to the good old days of fear and pain. But, those Iraqi's are not being killed by Americans, but by their own citizens who are attempting to rob them of their hard-won freedom.

Does anyone (who advocates for the withdrawal of American troops as a method to stop the killing of Iraqi's) stop to consider how many Americans lost their lives in the Revolution in the name of freedom? in the Civil War? in World War II?

How about the number of Russian civilians who died in WWII during Germany's attack on their country? Tens of thousands.

Memorial Day

Remember, with a grateful heart, those who gave their lives for our great United States of America, so that yours wouldn't be lost to tyranny and oppression. With their lives, they protected and restored the freedom of millions.

I especially remember, and give thanks for, my great uncle, Rene O. Hebert, who survived the landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944, and gave his life about a week later liberating France - and thus, the rest of the World - from a cruel and vicious dictorship of tyranny and torture.

Milton Friedman's "Capitalism & Freedom"

THIS should be required high school reading for every American.

It puts, in fairly straight-forward terms, exactly why free-market capitalist economy is necessary to protecting individual freedoms.

It was based on speeches from 50 years ago, and amazingly VERY relevant today!

1776

What the American Revolutionary War was REALLY like

1776 by David McCullough

I learned details and facts about the American Revolutionary War that I never knew! And, instead of a dry bunch of facts, this book was a page turner! Isn't that odd? You know how it's going to turn out, but you still can't put the book down because you can't wait to find out how it turns out! Well, you really don't know exactly how it's going to turn out because what you're learning about is all of the details of the war - the daily experiences of the men, of George Washington, of the generals, the details of the different strategy decisions, etc.

I was absolutely blown away by what I learned. I truely had no idea of the sacrifices of our Revolution - sacrifices to bring about a completely new way of government of, by and for a free people.

This summer I was able to tell my daughter about George Washington's "adventures" in 1776 in the Revolution - but in the form of an interesting story - thanks to McCullough's 1776. And, she kept asking me to tell her more!

Whereas before, when we would cross the Delaware River, I would say something like, "This is the river that George Washington and his men crossed in the middle of winter," I could now tell her the STORY of how Washington and his mean had to retreat from NYC all through NJ and into PA. How the Hessians were celebrating Christmas in Princeton. How George and his men - men who's enlistment time was almost up - collected boats from people up and down the river and crossed in the dark of night to the other side in a surprise attack ... and on went the story. She was enthralled as much as I had been.

"1776" by David McCullough should be required reading for every 7th grader.
