From the lens Brigid - Celtic Goddess and Saint.

  • nancyrowina May 31, 2012 @ 11:17 am | delete
Great lens, I love Brigid I must add her to my own lens about Goddesses. I once observed the tradition of leaving a piece of bread and some milk on my back door step on Imbolc for Brigid and her cow (she is supposed to wander the earth that night). In the morning the food had gone. :)

I find it intriguing she is also a saint too.

I feel a connection with Bride- When I first encountered her in my studies of my Celtic heritage, coincidentally, our local junior college just offered an ornamental iron forge class at a local business and I was able to sign up for evening classes.

Thanks for this resourceful lens! Brigid is my favourite celtic goddess too, and I was amazed to read that she has made her presence known to you too.. along with Archangel Michael, my favourite archangel... to read this on a day of new-found inspiration too! There truly is no such thing as coincidence;-)

This is a great Brighid lens (I've lens rolled to my new lens about Celtic Paganism!) and interesting to know that she is featured in the Voodoo religion as well, I did a project about togo and benin - where voodoo is from and have been fascinated since then! Maya Deren did an interesting film about voodoo or voudun!

Wow. What beautiful imagery. I especially like how you qualified her as a Triple Goddess and a Saint- that is a unique way to show the expansiveness of her spirit. I also have a page on goddesses you might enjoy: http://www.squidoo.com/Discover-Your-Inner-Goddess
