"Who says there's no place for faith at work?"
For many years I felt alone, and forsaken, in the workplace. The feeling of dread would start coming over me on Sunday afternoons. I would try to put it out of my head, but always the thought was there: "I have to get up tomorrow morning, drive to a place where I don't want to be, interface with people I don't like or trust, and keep my true feelings—on everything from religion to company policies—to myself." In other words, I had to go to work on Monday morning.
It was not like this all the time or every day. There were times when I enjoyed my work and the people around me. Some of my bosses and co-workers became life-long friends. Nevertheless, for a very long time, it seemed workplace bliss eluded me.
You see, for many years I worked to please other people, or I worked for money. Neither of these brought me career satisfaction. It didn't seem to matter if I worked for a large corporation, or a small non-profit—I could not find peace at work. I was frustrated, stressed, and misdirected, and I wasn't alone! Many of my co-workers and friends, as well as the people I taught in Bible studies, shared similar tales of workplace troubles.
It wasn't until I accepted God as my boss, that I found salvation at work. With God's help, I was able to turn my work life around. I am now convinced it is the only way to live.

I also share personal anecdotes from my own work experience, which led me to the conclusion that I cannot separate my faith from my work. Neither can you! Before you go any further with God on the Job, you need to know the premise of this book is-you cannot find workplace bliss without acknowledging your faith, and surrendering your will to God.
There are many self-help books designed to guide you toward career success. You have probably read a few of them, but still come up short. That is because they leave God out of the equation.
