David Crowder Band originated in Waco, Texas consisting of 6 regular members. Their music is a blend of electronica, folk, bluegrass, and alternative. For such an eclectic combination, it works beautifully, and is upbeat, and powerful. Combined with their lyrics, you can't help but be transported and uplifted.

One of the longest performing acts in Christian music, The Newsboys have been around since their creation in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia, in 1985. They gained fame after relocating to the US, going through several band member changes, and releasing a few albums.

Since then, however, they have released 14 studio albums, and have changed band members many times. The most noticeable change happened in 2009, when the lead singer, Peter Furler, left the band, and was replaced by Michael Tate (formerly of DC Talk).

Formed in Greenville, Texas in 1994, MercyMe got their big break when they were signed to INO Records in 2001, and released their debut album, featuring "I Can Only Imagine".

Their style ranges from soft rock to upbeat tempo, all featuring the absolute passion for God that Bart Millard shares in his tunes. They have had more than 20 number 1 singles and have won numerous awards. "Word of God Speak" has been named the top Christian song of the decade.

I have a great admiration for all of the artists on this list, as well as a great many more. These artists, from David Crowder, to Mercy Me, to Chris Tomlin, have a great talent for inspiration. They are sharing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ in a form that makes it easy to understand and to accept. Coupled with great vocals, and catchy music, all of these artists work to bring you closer to God.

Third Day has been around since the early 90's, but found success with their first official album after signing with Reunion Records in 1995. Formed in Marietta, Georgia, Third Day has seen a great deal of international success over their almost 20 year career.

Casting Crowns officially started in Daytona Beach, Florida, but the final band members joined only after they moved to Stockbridge, Georgia.
