Bob Burg and John Mann have collaborated to put into story form profound truths that make you stop, take a deep breath.

The book has received praise from16 renown success business leaders. Paul Zane Pilzer says: " The Go-Giver taps into the secret that the megasuccessful already know: Personal wealth is the by-product of making the world a better place.

The five principles Burg and Mann list as keys to success are:

Jim Stovall says, "giving is not a debt we owe but, instead, it is a seed we sow.

The Law of Value
The Law of Compensation
The Law of Influence
The Law of Authenticity
The Law of Receptivity
Like all truths these are timeless and universal. They embrace the core values of men and revive the idea that servanthood is not being the least of all, but, rather being a servant, putting others first ultimately leads to unexpected returns.

In the Go Giver, the first lesson that Joe the GoGetter learns is that when starting out in a venture ask yourself, is what I am about to do serve others, am I adding value to others? If the answer is yes, then income will start happening. If your can do better and exceed your market's expectation, the income will exceed your expectations. The Law of Value

Joe the GoGetter in the Go-Giver learned something more after his first tenuous act of offering unexpected service. He found that the more people he served well without ulterior motive, business unfolded for him creating new income. You can learn Attraction Marketing as the model of marketing taught at Renegade University. Klingler teaches how to put into application all the marketing tools of a blog, content sharing, using lead capture pages and many more skills that increases the number of people you serve exponentially. In fact, at Renegade University service is provided free as you watch archived webinars that take you click by click through tutorials. This service activates the Law of Compensation teaching you to monetize your marketing. You are offering value and service to the niche market you are reaching out to. As these new students choose to access their learning tools for their businesses, you are earning affiliate income.

Keeping Score or Giving Freely?

The parable of Joe the GoGetter is set in financial services. Joe was in the habit of keeping score. When he helped someone secure a new account for their financial portfolio, he expected to have the same favour returned to him and when it didn't happen Joe was not a happy camper. This is not win-win. It is not networking. It is I'll do you a good turn, but I expect the same in return. Joe discovered from his mentor, Pindar, what true networking looked like, how it would play out in his day to day work. Joe's mentor taught him that a true network happens when a group of people come to know you, they actually like you and then trust you. These people may never buy anything from you, but because you have earned their respect, they refer you on to someone who may need to purchase your goods or services. The work you do to grow your network create a pool of personal ambassadors for your business. Referrals for your services become the norm and so the Law of Influence builds your business volume. Bob Burg has many resources that expand on this principle to quip you to become an effective networker in business and life.

Are You Putting Other People's Interest First?

In Attraction Marketing as taught at Renegade University, you will find this Law of Influence manifested as you generously place other people's interest first.

The Law of Authenticity is really the foundation, in my mind of the other four laws. Without authenticity, your efforts in networking, marketing life are pretty shallow..In all of this marketing, we sometimes scramble to learn the techniques, to master the presentation, to work on posture, to get specialized knowledge on our product or services. Where all of these steps are necessary to do business in integrity, they represent only a very small percent of what attracts your customer. Burg and Mann say that only 10% max represents the importance of having all of these skills. Your people skills are 90% responsible for your success to reach goals that you have in business,. Burg goes on to list some of these skills- liking people, caring about people, listening to people, but most importantly it is just being you. Burg writes: " The most important valuable thing you have to give people is yourself. No matter what you think you are selling, what you're really offering is you."

Okay, taking a really close look at your day to day walk is there changes you can see that would make you a better person? I sure can see it more me. I know I am a nice enough person, but, there is always room for improvement. In The Law of Authenticity true personal authenticity leads to people to reaches their level of success and they have gone through a journey of personal growth that sometimes is very hard work and meets resistance.

As we create online content, Mike Klingler at Renegade University reminds us to simply represent who we are personally, to write from our hearts. This is why this networkmarketing industry creates true leaders. To get to the level of success that you have as a leader, you have had the courage to let go of your unbelief in yourself. Maybe you have had to find new friends. Ultimately it is a long process of discovering the best of yourself. Then leader give of themselves to teach, train and inspire others. That is the Law of Authenticity in action.

The fifth principle for successful living that the Go-Giver describes is The Law of Receptivity. We are familiar about having an attitude of abundance, of focusing on what it is that you want. Bob Burg and John Mann write " All the giving in the world won't bring success, won't create the results you want, unless you also make yourself willing and able to receive in like measure. Because if you don't let yourself receive, your're refusing the gifts of others-----and you shut down the flow"

"The secret to success "is to give, give give. The secret to getting is giving. And the secret to giving is making yourself open to receiving." In the parable, Joe the Go-Getter becomes Joe the Go-Giver when he realizes The Law of Receptivity.

All successful networkmarketers will have this little book resonate within them as they recognize the journey they went through. Networkmarketers who are looking for a better way to do business would do well to purchase this little book for their inspiration and motivation. Bob Burg goes beyond the parable to provide practical tools to assist you in implementing the many personal people skills he has personified through the characters of his book.

Great post! Bob Burg and John David Mann have made these laws come to life in such a powerful way in this business parable! Everyday I find myself relating to some aspect of the book or vibrant characters within it. Bob has become a profound mentor to me and he is the ultimate example of a Go Giver! I blog quite frequently about the concepts of the Go Giver as well.

Thank you for applications of the principle of The Go Giver. A fine example of giving without expecting returns. Yet, I am sure as the truth is outlined in the book, good will come back to you.

    Great article,
I like the laws in how they are applied to business and life in general. When we make a conscious effort to live by them, we not only change ourselves but change the lives of others. Yes as you said ... Win,Win!
