Mobility scooter review - Go Go Elite Traveller Plus

If you are thinking about buying a mobility scooter, a great one to get is the Go Go Elite Traveller. We bought the Plus version for my husband, but I have to say it is also for me as much as it is for him. Because of my husband's disability he can't maneuver himself in a manual wheelchair, so I used to have to push him in a chair whenever we went out. Now I can snap the Go Go scooter together in a pinch and he can move about as independently as he pleases. It makes traveling so much easier for both of us. Let's look at a few features that make this scooter worth getting.

Travel mobility scooter features

The number one feature of this scooter is that it breaks down, and reassembles, easily. This makes it simple to put it in the back of our SUV, but it will also fit into a spacious trunk. This is great for vehicles that are incapable of having a scooter lift on the back, or if you would prefer not to have one on your car. The heaviest piece is 35 pounds so it is not too difficult for me to pack or unpack the scooter. One thing about this scooter that you should be aware of is that you do need to watch where your fingers are when you put it together, because they can get pinched if you are not paying attention, but otherwise it is not difficult to assemble it.

Another feature is the easy steering mechanism, which my husband has no problem with despite his hand disability. The hand controls have simple switches that can be pushed forward or backward to move the scooter accordingly. It can easily be operated with one hand, and there is a knob for setting fast or slow speed.

The Go Go Elite Traveller comes in a 3 wheel or 4 wheel version, and they come with different fender plates so you can change the color to either red, blue or silver. We bought the 4 wheel version because my husband wanted more stability, but it's slightly less maneuverable than the 3 wheel version. Easy access into and out of the chair is facilitated by a lever on the side that allows the rider to swivel the seat, as well as arms that lift up out of the way.

Here is a video that shows how to break down a Go Go scooter and stow it in a trunk.
