I have no idea about you people, but I'm frustrated by the amount of the problems our Mother Nature is facing every day. May it be Global Warming or a Natural Calamity; the problems are just going to increase if we don't take right steps to save our planet. I know you must be wondering now that how can you find a solution for such a huge problem. But, what I want to tell you is that you make a difference in saving our Mother Nature.
Out here I have summarize few simple measures which you can implement for yourself to make difference.
- Unplug Devices: Electrical devices and appliances eat up energy even when are not in use. You can save 5% on your monthly energy bill. Some common examples include cell phone chargers, DVD players etc. You can also use smart power strip that can sense appliances are being not used or off.
- Shut off Lights: Try to use natural sunlight during the day time. See to it that you shut off lights whenever they not in use.
- Use Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs): I know these bulbs are costly but they are worth every penny. CFLs bulb not only consume 70% less energy but they also last very long compared to regular incandescent bulbs.
- Use of Thermostat: Set you're thermostat temperature a few degrees lower or use a sweater or a blanket wrapped around you during winter in order to save energy and your money. Set you're thermostat temperature a few degrees higher in the summer. If you dress yourself appropriately according to the temperature, you will be able to save money on your cooling and heating costs in winter and summer season.
- Use a Clothesline: Try to use natural wind energy to dry out your clothes. Use of a drying rack or clothesline will help you save the energy and money.

A dripping taps waste a lot amount of water every day. If any of your taps open then immediately turn them off.
- Take Short Showers: Try to take short 5-10 minutes showers rather then long 30-40 minutes showers. This help you save water at sufficient quantity on a per day basis, which can be used for your other household purpose.
- Install Low Flow Shower head: A low flow shower head is much cheaper then the pressurize shower heads which not only costly but also waste lots of water. A low flow showerhead can save water and reduce your cost on heating water by 50%.
- Check for Leaks: A leaking pipe or a leaking toilet can waste lots gallons of water every month. See to it you will fix all your leaking pipes at your home in order to save water and some money.
- Filter your Water and keep drinking water from Refrigerator : Try to fit a water filter in your kitchen sink, tap water is as pure as the expensive bottle water. Try to keep water in water bottles inside refrigerator, this way you will avoid wasting water which is running the faucet to get cold.
