Many years ago, most folks worked in the fields or forests together. Those who were not cut out for that kind of work generally migrated to store fronts, and then to offices.... and their "workspaces" eventually became "cubicles".
Nowadays, cubicles resemble padded cells without doors--and if the tenants in the cubicles don't get enough exercise and mental breaks from the dull routine of cubicle life, they can go nuts! Or, they can help in driving their neighbors in the cubicle farm nuts!
Some coworkers are unbearable. This bears consideration! (The other half of this bear is in the Red Dog Saloon, Juneau, Alaska)

Like the guy in the cubicle farm who listened to his voicemail each morning on his speakerphone at full-blast. After a while, many of us had had enough! So, we (a bunch of us frustrated cubicle mates who refuse to mention the name of the individuals involved *grin*) got a recording of Meg Ryan's stellar performance in the movie "When Harry Met Sally" (uh, that performance right before the lady next to them at the deli said, "I'll have what she's having!") and we waited until we knew that there would be about 5 or 6 messages on his voicemail already. Then, we called his office, got the voicemail prompt, and played the eye-popping soundtrack.
The next morning, we all gathered around the neighboring cubicles and waited for him to play his voicemail. Of course, we didn't expect that his wife would come to visit him that morning. But it definitely added to the humor when we heard the soundtrack and the sounds of him trying to rip the phone cord out of the wall and a lot of explaining to the other person in the cubicle.
For a few weeks after the fun, it took a lot for us to keep from snickering when passing him in the hallways. But we DID cure him from listening to his voicemails on speakerphone!
