The Turban Head Half Eagle Gold Coin comes in two types, the small eagle and the large eagle. The small eagle was minted from 1795 thru 1798, whereas the large eagle was minted throughout the Turban Head era from 1795 thru 1807.
Draped Bust Half Eagle Gold Coin

The Draped Bust Half Eagle Gold Coin was minted from 1807 to 1812 and featured a round capped Liberty facing left.
Capped Head Half Eagle Gold Coin

The Capped Head Half Eagle Gold Coin was minted from 1813 thru 1834. It featured the same design as the Draped Head Half Eagle with much of the bust line removed.
Classic Head Half Eagle Gold Coin

The Classic Head Half Eagle Gold Coin was minted from 1834 until 1838.
Liberty Head Half Eagle Gold Coin

The Liberty Head Half Eagle Gold Coing was minted in two versions. The first version from 1839 - 1866 was minted without the motto. The later version from 1867 - 1908 was minted with the motto.
Indian Head Half Eagle Gold Coin
The Indian Head Half Eagle Gold Coins were minted from 1908 thru 1915. Gold coins were no longer produced during World War 1. In 1929, the Indian Head Half Eagle was minted for one year before being discontinued.
The Indian Head is a unique coin as its flat parts are higher than the design. This is different on most coins where the design is raised higher than the flat parts.
