Golden Grass Collection

Our golden grass collection is handmade by a large team of artisans based in the Jalapao Area, Tocantins. The process of hand-crafting "capim dourado" consists of many steps and in order to sustain grow, its core material can only be harvest during 3 months (Sep-Nov) out of the year. This community of more than 500 families understand, value and follow sustainable practices; besides crafting "capim dourado" pieces is their only source of income. The results are beautiful handmade and unique pieces, which will get anyone's attention.

The artisans in Tocantins are influenced by original indian culture. Styles and techniques are learned from Indians. The State of Tocantins in the North West region of Brazil, is in a transition zone between the Amazon Forest and the Savannah, mixing fauna and flora from both of the rich ecosystems. Extra: Due to the larger number of indians living in wide bands of its territory, the State of Tocantins has developed an unique project for indigenous education. The program includes training indian teachers on their mother tongue and in Portuguese. It promotes learning and respect to the habits and traditions in the state.
