Golden Retriever Dogs - How to care for and train your golden retriever puppy
Here are some ideas and resources to help you care for your Golden Retriever puppy.
The resources cover care and nutrition and training for your Golden Retriever.
We had two golden retrievers both female - Bindy and Cindy - so I have had twenty years experience with Golden Retrievers. There are few breeds of dogs that are as intelligent, companionable and warm as Retrievers.
I only wish that the resources that are available today were around when our Golden Retrievers were puppies.
Golden Retrievers can be mischevious and downright embarrassing if they are not trained properly.
Fortunately, there are many resources available now to help you out.
One that stands out becuase of its proven track record is Dean Rankin's Golden Retriever Training Tips.

- You know, I actually have a golden retriever myself. His name is Tucker. He is actually my second golden retriever (we had another golden retirever by the name of Teddy, but he passed away back in 2007, though we had him since 1997). They can be pretty active and mischievious little creatures if you ask me, especially as puppies. My current one, Tucker is a little over a year old, already fully grown, and is quite active, such as wanting to play catch outside often, chewing on things he probably shouldn't, rough housing with my other dog, a bichon-frise Shizu, named Angel, and tends to get excited when people come over.

- Love your lens, and love Golden Retrievers (all dogs, cats well animals in general:), Our Golden Retriever is Millie. They are indeed beautiful natured, intelligent and loving creatures. Pet therapy is something that I could write about on my HelpDepression lens... Lynne :)

- Hi Susan52 - Retrievers are so intelligent - we had the problem that anytime anyone put their walking shoes on, our dog would appear at the front door (from out of nowhere) with that look of expectation that only Golden Retrievers can convey.

- We had the best golden retriever, Maggie, when our kids were growing up. She was so smart. Her pervious owners ate pizza a lot and she loved it. When she came to live with us, we learned to spell the "p word" if that's what we were planning to eat. Didn't take long for her to learn p-i-z-z-a!
