Who is goldleader23?

Who is goldleader23? Goldleader23 is me. Who am I? Erik. Who is Erik? Well (switching to third-person mode), Erik is a man of many talents. He is an artist (traditional, digital, 3D, abstract, graphic design), an animator (traditional, 3D), a writer (novels, screenplays; nothing published yet), a martial artist (no specific style, mostly self-taught), a fight choreographer (lightsaber duels), a filmmaker, a game designer (a little of everything), a programmer (still a newbie), a gamer (who isn't?), a musician (French horn), a composer, a photographer, and whatever else he's interested in at any given time. (switching back to first-person mode) I am by no means the best at any one thing, but I am the best at being me. I'm always looking for new ways to combine my interests and talents together. I never stop learning, never stop improving. This is me.

Story behind the name

goldleader23

By the way, this is my own personal logo, which I also designed and created

Once upon a time, when I was new to the world of Cyberspace, I needed to create a user name so I could make an account on the Disney website (Zoog Disney, to be exact. Read about Zoog Disney here). First off, I'm a big Star Wars fan. Ever since I can remember, I've been watching the movies, collecting every manner of merchandise, and generally being a geek. That's where the "goldleader" part came from (if you don't remember, Lando Calrissian was Gold Leader in Return of the Jedi). I just liked the sound of it. That name by itself was already taken, however, so I needed to add a number to it. My sister came to the rescue by suggesting the number 23. That's really all there is. Now I've been using the name for over a decade, and chances are very good that if you see that name, it's me. I'm everywhere, ha HA!

Art

Fiery Maelstrom - my favorite and most popular

I draw and 3D model, but neither as often as I should. Most of what I do is abstract art in Photoshop, but recently I've been doing a lot of funny cartoony graphics to sell on Zazzle. Below are links to places where you can see my art, ranging from digital abstracts, to digital non-abstracts, to 3D, to some of my Original Characters, to photo-manipulation. I would like to do more actual drawing, learn how to use Apophysis (a program used to make fractals), and improve my photo-manipulation skills, among other things.

Sheezy Art

Everything that's on Sheezy Art is also on deviantArt, but deviantArt is my main one, and includes alot more of my work on it.

Ice - another favorite of mine (also popular)
Glow 3 - part of my Glow series

Merchandise

I try to sell alot of my work on Zazzle products, anything from t-shirts to mugs to shoes, and everything inbetween. At the moment I have six stores, with at least one more on the way. Below you'll find four of the best/most popular items from each of my stores.

Games

The first room in Coded Hallway, my first finished game

I've been designing games on paper since I was a little kid, but never actually got to make one for real until a few years ago, when I learned how to use Flash. I've released a total of 4 Flash games (Coded Hallway 1 & 2, and TEXTreme Adventure I & II), and have several more on the way. I do pretty much everything on my games (graphics, programming, music), and even recorded my own sound effects for Coded Hallway. My real goal is to make games for consoles, of which I'm designing several.

Below are the links to my profiles on both Newgrounds and Kongregate, where you can find my games, the two pieces of music I wrote for Coded Hallway, and some of my art. NOTE: I know Newgrounds is more popular, but I would prefer people play my games on Kongregate if possible. Thank you!

I've made lenses for all 4 games, which include some background info as well as complete walkthroughs. My lenses can be found at the bottom of this page.

Music

I play the French horn (haven't had the time to make any videos of me playing it yet), but I'm also an amateur composer. I've only written about ten pieces in the last ten years. These are the Main Theme and Title Screen from my Flash game Coded Hallway. When I finish one of my next games, I will also upload the five pieces written for that.

Videos

YouTube Profile

On YouTube you can find several videos I've made over the years. I'd say most of them were school projects, but there's some personal stuff as well. I have a few of my early 2D animation tests (made for a class), a few projects from different video classes I've taken, And some (old) lightsaber duels. I will be making more videos, animations, and lightsaber duels in the (hopefully near) future. I've been pretty inspired by MysteryGuitarMan lately, so you can also expect some interesting concept videos.

Miscellaneous

This section is for things that don't fit anywhere else. So far I only have one thing to put in it.

I have a very diverse selection of used books (and a few videos) for sale on Amazon:
