Golf Fitness At Home Is A Very Effective Way To Increase Driving Distance

It's not secret! All the tour players are into golf fitness. Most of them have trainers that travel with them, they take it that serious. I'm glad to see this, as I am tired of seeing all the out-of-shape, physically broken golfers who ignore, deny the importance of fitness not only for better golf, but for a better quality of life. We only have one shot at it, so why not make it the best we can.

There are many golf fitness products on the market, but some of it scares me. I say this because many of these programs are just too demanding for the older golfer. The risk of injury is really high. The most important part of a golf fitness program, is building a foundation of general fitness FIRST, then moving onto more golf-specific training exercises and stretches. I've even seen on The Golf Channel exercises that many golfers should NOT DO!

I'm not hear to bash other golf fitness companies, but to educate you on the importance of starting at a reasonable level, based on your current fitness. If it's been years since you exercised, you don't go from zero workouts a week, to 7 days a week. That's setting yourself up for failure from the getgo. What you do is start out at 10-15 minutes a couple of days a week for a few weeks. When you achieve this, then and only then bump it up.

Golf Stretching DVD

Simple Stretches In Only 7 Minutes A Day To Longer Golf Drives

The main cause of a lack of power and distance for the older golfer is flexibility. I've seen it hundreds of times. The senior golfer cannot make a full turn on the backswing, which robs them of power and distance. The issue is not mechanical, it's physical! The only way to improve it is with a stretching program. One that does not overdo it, or cause the golfer to become too sore afterwards. Golf stretching exercises done with the guidance of a professional golf trainer is a very effective way to improve your range of motion in your golf swing.

An added benefit is a massive reduction in back pain, as well as injuries. The more your golf muscles are flexibile, the less chance of them straining, pulling or tearing when you swing your golf club. They say 80% of all amateur golfers play in pain. Well how about doing a simple 7 minute golf specific stretching routine in the comfort of your home, to play pain-free golf, and see a big increase in your driving distance?
