I've never really talked much about how much I enjoy golf. I like to play golf, watch golf, learn about golf. In my younger years I spent days upon days playing golf. When I got my first set of clubs, I would play 27 holes a day, except for weekends. I would work a split shift and play all afternoon. In the cold winter days, I would study the game while I waited for spring to come. When I moved to Florida, I traveled the state attending tournaments, both mens and womens. I continued to play and practice. On some of my jobs I gave golf lessons to my co-workers on our breaks and lunch hours. I had aspirations of playing professionally for a few years; but I gave up because I thought I was too old in my mid 20's to take it up that seriously. In my later years I often thought about those desires and wondered if I could have made it. I still enjoy the game immensely and have wanted to do a lens on golf.
This lens is a culmination of things about golf that I like and wanted to share and I'm going to do it in a format that makes it enjoyable for everyone to read and enjoy at the same time. I'm putting it in a tournament format that involves a quiz on four of the aspects of golf. As you know most major tournaments consist of 72 holes of golf played. So in honor of the game I'm going to do 72 holes of golf questions. Each section of 18 holes in the tournament will feature one aspect of golf. 72 questions equals 72 holes of golf quiz questions. Got it? It's a tournament of golf questions. So sign up and put your golf shoes on, then make your way to the first tee! Have fun along the way and enjoy your rounds of golf. You don't have to be a golfer to play in this tournament and you can still have fun!
Round one of the golf quiz.

The first round of quiz questions is on my favorite golf courses around the world. They are some of the most interesting and beautiful courses in my estimation. I will list them and all you have to do is answer the all-important question: where are they located? I'll bet you know more than you think you do!

You just finished the first 18 holes of golf!
Congratulations.
Golf is not a game of speed!
You don't have to play all 72 holes of golf (quiz questions) at one time. Play 9 or 18 or whatever suits you and come back and finish!
Get ready for round two!

Round two of our golf tournament is all about the rules of playing golf and golf equipment. Don't get nervous if you are a non-golfer. The questions are all true or false so you don't have to come up with the answers yourself. If you are a golfer or intend to take up golf, you need to know the rules of play. I've thrown in some trivia questions about golf equipment. So get ready to tee up for your second round and have a great time out on the course. It's a beautiful day...so take in all that beautiful scenery and fresh air!

Are you ready for the third round?
Don't forget to wear your golf hat when you go.

Round three is about golf tournaments. I really enjoy watching tournaments. If you don't know much about golf...just watch one on tv. The announcers will give you a real education on how the game is played, how to hit different shots, and are very articulate on what was good golf form and what wasn't. I've learned a lot just by listening to the announcers calling the shots. The best part of each tournament is getting to see the courses in different parts of the world and how beautiful they are. Golf is such a refreshing game. When you play a round of golf you have taken in the best of what nature has to offer...fresh air, open green spaces, trees and lakes. What can be better than this? Only playing the game itself. Golf tournaments exemplify these points...so let's check out some golf tournaments in this third round of quiz questions. This will be a mix of multiple choice and true and false. Let's get back out on the course for the third round!

Ready for the final round of golf?
The fourth and final round of golf quizzes is all about the players and the monikers (nicknames) they have picked up from their fellow competitors. If you watch much golf, you will readily understand how they came to have these names. I like to think of them as the essence of their game. If you have a golf nickname...please share it at the end of this final round. We want to know! These questions will be all multiple choice...so don't sweat it if you're just a duffer in the golf ranks.
