A Golf Addict's Delight
Whitey says:
We are looking forward to this great trip - I am counting down the hours until we leave - 6 days and 43 minutes till departure at this moment.
Charlotte, NC to Philadelphia to Glascow and day 1 of golf at Carnoustie. After that moment, every day is filled with golf for 7 days!

Carnoustie
Day 1 of Golf in Scotland
Adams Family Tour will play Carnoustie on the day of arrival! What a thrill!
Whitey says, "Carnoustie is where Ben Hogan won the British Open in 1953. He won all 3 majors that he played in that year. What an honor to drive your golf ball up Hogan's Alley! Could be the hardest three finishing holes in golf around the world."

Royal Dornoch
Whitey says "Royal Dornach - We will play two rounds here. I have never played here but do know this is the home of Donald Ross -- premier golf course architect."

The West Links North Berwick
Whitey tells me North Berwick is one of the most scenic golf courses in Scotland - however, he has been told this by his previous playing partners!

Muirfield Open Championship Links
Whitey says, "Muirfield is great to play because of all the past champions that have won there, like Nicklaus and Faldo. This is an extremely hard golf course. Muirfield is in the town of Gullen - where I was struck by a car in 1987. I will be more aware of which way the traffic flows in 2009!"

The New Course at St Andrews
Whitey says, "The New Course at St Andrews, even though it is not 400 years old like the Old Course, is quite a test of golf."

The Old Course at St Andrews
Whitey: "This golf course is the epitome of golf - walking in the same footprints as greats like Snead, Hogan, Jones, Palmer, Nicklaus, Faldo, Watson, Player, Nelson, Woods always gives me chills, especially being on the real first tee with my son!"

The Castle
Whitey: "I am looking forward to playing The Castle. This is a new course, only two years old, but I understand it offers rolling terrain, mounds and severely contoured greens. Sounds like fun to me! We are hoping for good weather at least six of the seven days."

- I'm wondering how many birdies they got? Or would they rather keep quiet about that. Golf stories, don't I know it. Blessed by an Angel.

- As one of the fateful eight who made the Adams trip, I can unequivocably state that it was the most fantastic golf trip I ever made. From the nastiness of Carnoustie and the sheer beauty of Royal Dornoch to the quaintness of North Berwick, the mystigue of Muirfield and all the special golf and memories imbedded in the courses of St. Andrews, the trip was a delight to all who played and who appreciate the grand sport of golf. In addition to the golf, we were also able to enjoy a one day membership of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club. I can honestly say that Scotland does golf different from York County.
It was a special week of golf partcularly playing with my son. The memories will last forever.
New and better friendships were made and the memories will last forever.

- the trip was fantastic. Lots of memories- and the weather was great. If you ever plan a trip to Scotland- Royal Dornoch is a must. The scenery-the golf course --it was all incredible- all of the courses were great!! my favorites have to be Royal Dornoch and Muirfield. Favorite beer- Tennants lager- To walk those fairways (esp at St Andrews-Old Course) with my dad was an awesome experience. Hopefully one day I can walk them with my kids. Another great trip!!!!

- Oh,no! I am not going - just the men folk! lol This is a total golfer's trip. Randy won a trip for 2 to Scotland - and asked his dad to go with him. So they asked a group of friends and the 8 of them are headed to Scotland! Wives are staying at home but oh the bargaining power we have! lol
