Golf Carts... not just for the golf course anymore!

Golf carts are popping up all over the place! These little carts have become increasingly popular over the years. Today you can see them off the course as well as on. They are an easy way for older or infirm people to get around on private property. Private security companies use them to get around large complexes of buildings...

One man even made a robotic snowplow out of a converted golf cart! We found a picture... still haven't found a video of it for you... it was quite remarkable. You can see it farther down the page in our trivia section.

Be sure to check out the news headlines below and don't miss the golf carts for the Kiddies in our feature: Golf... The Next Generation.

Before you go... leave us comments on what you have to say about golf! We love interaction.

Golf Cart Trivia...

Little known interesting tidbits...

Seen an interesting blurb about golf carts? Let us know so we can include it here!

The Amazing Transforming Golf Cart!

When is a golf cart not a golf cart?? When it is a snowplow!!

Bill Lauver of Middleburg, PA, has done the unthinkable... well, maybe not unthinkable--he obviously thought of it... he turned a golf cart into a radio controlled snowplow! We found a copy of the news story online... You can go here to find it while they still have it live:

Robotic Golf Cart Snowplow

Peachtree City, Georgia... where golf carts are a household item

Peachtree City is known for its system of golf cart paths, which spider across the town and provide a secondary means of access to almost any destination within city limits. Many households own a golf cart, which is used as an extra vehicle for local transportation. Children as young as twelve may operate a cart on Peachtree City cart paths with a parent, grandparent or guardian in the front seat. Unaccompanied fifteen-year-olds with valid Georgia Learner's Permits are allowed to operate golf carts alone.

Students at local McIntosh High School are even encouraged to drive their golf carts to school due to limited parking. The golf cart paths are also used by bikers, joggers, and pedestrians as a safer alternative to the side of the road.

olf cart technology makes a fascinating study! Here in Spain we don't get a lot of choice... but each cart has its pros and cons, so choose wisely... a great lens!

If you love golf, why not immerse yourself in the whole lifestyle!

Great information on those movable golf carts. I agree, you can use them practically everywhere! Kinda like how portable buildings are the rage these days. They've been around quite a while, just like golf carts. With portable buildings, you can generally take them anywhere and for a lot of purposes, too. Portable buildings aren't that expensive either so they sit well with a lot of folks. Again, just like golf carts! Nice lens!

Golf courses are becoming more and more "senior friendly" to compete for the senior
golfer's business. Many of these seniors along with their spouses or significant other
play mainly for social reasons. Their love of the game and the fact they love playing the
game with friends has forced the golf industry to cater to them for their business.
While seniors might not have the ability to hit the ball as far as a younger golfer, they
know their limitations and will play a more intelligent game. They will use the
knowledge of the course and several other pieces of experience to score points.

Because the senior golfers use their knowledge and their experience, they more than
make up for the loss of yards on the tee off.
