Golf Swing Sequence - 5 Steps to Swing Like the Pros
To get a powerful swing, you must have a controlled stance, an accurate setup and powerful swing.
Using the techniques of the Golf-Swing-Master.com many pros have knocked at least 4-7 strokes off their game and were able to hit more powerful, accurate shots.
The golf swing may seem simple, but to gain the power and accuracy, you must learn and practice the below important steps. Through many years of practicing the long complex golf swing, I've learned the most important steps to achieve this is visualization.
Visualize in your mind the perfect short swing, instead of concentrating on inconsisent swings and that long conventional swing. Here are the keys to significantly lower your handicap and gain power and accuracy behind your golf swing.
The Perfect Setup

First Step in A Proper Golf Swing Sequence.
The Setup is how you position your body and golf club in relation to the golf ball. The proper golf stance is important for accuracy, speed and power, and if done incorrectly can place unnecessary strain on your back. Staying, balanced, relaxed and focused is key, to a smooth shot.
- Line up the center of the club face to the center of the ball.
- Your front foot should be slightly ahead of the ball, and your feet
should be shoulder width apart, with your knees slightly bent. - Keep your back straight and your front foot comfortable.
- Feet, knees, hips and shoulders should all be parallel to your target.
The Backswing for Maximum Power

S econd Step in A Proper Golf Swing Sequence.
Strengthen your backswing, a/k/a the Takeaway, to achieve Maximum Power.
This is where you build the power that will eventually propel the ball. The movement should be smooth, relaxed and controlled.
- Slowly start to move the club head back, and shift your body weight to your back foot.
- Your front arm should remain straight, while your back arm will start to bend.
- Retain control and keep moving gracefully until your front shoulder is in under your chin and your front knee is slightly bent towards your back knee.
- Cock your wrist as your arms and the club reach over your head.
Downswing Do's for a Graceful Release

T hird Step in A Proper Golf Swing Sequence.
The Downswing. The downswing is where you will release all the power built up in your backswing, and finally make contact with the ball sending it sailing towards a Hole-In-One.
- Begin by releasing your cocked wrists, and swing the club downwards.
- Shift your weight back to your front foot, making sure to keep your back straight, but bending at your hips.
- Move your body forward and keep your power and momentum going as you meet the center of the golf ball.
- Hold the bend in your wrists, and then snap them straight at the last moment which will give you maximum power while hitting the ball.
The Proper Follow Through for Follow-up Power

Fourth Step in A Proper Golf Swing Sequence.
The Follow Through is an important part of the sequence, and what many believe is the secret to a hole in one. Cutting your follow through short can result in injury to yourself. Your body needs to complete the proper turns to slow the powerful swinging motion set into action.
- After you make contact with the ball at the end of your downswing, your body will continue to shift weight to your front foot, and your back foot will turn, and lift up but keep your toes on the ground for stability.
- Keep your back arm straight as you move the club forward all the way up and over your head.
- For maximum power the club should land over your front shoulder.
