Show Me the Money!

I will be covering one of the legitimate ways of making money on the web. You will NOT make $50,000 overnight. You will not become a millionaire in a week. This is not the Land of Oz and I am not Dorothy so I will stay on this side of the rainbow if you please.

I personally don't believe much hype about anything. You really have to "show me the money" before I jump right into something. Even dear Billy Mays (may he rest in peace) could not make me buy anything.

Since I am this way I assumed everyone else was too, which I am finding is just not true. What I offer you is the truth. No hype, no glitz, just my experience and proof of what I have made so far.

The Experts - Logical, Lucky or Lying?

When I first signed up for a Twitter account a while back the first people following me were these brilliant SEO Managers and Experts. Seriously? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization for those who don't know and maybe even don't care. I followed them back, thinking I would see what this was all about. All they were trying to do was sell me their latest and greatest get rich quick scheme.

In the past I may have fallen prey to these losers, but not anymore. I stood up for my rights not to be harassed or lied to anymore. I un-followed them. What I saw in the meantime were the dozens of mindless zombies retweeting everything these people were spouting. It makes it look more legitimate that way, ya know.

We all want to make money from the web. That is why we are here hunting and pecking until our two fingers bleed and carpal tunnel syndrome sets in. Oh and yes, to entertain. Some of us couldn't make it as standup comics.

There are legitimate ways to make money on the web. Yes, really! You have seen some of these people that show you their "real" income statements. STOP. I'm not saying they are all lying, but really, $50,000 a month and no work involved? Should you believe that? NO!

Don't you sometimes think of the Big Fish story, though?

My Experience with Gomez Peer

This Screenshot was taken on August 4th, 2009.

Let's talk about making money on the web. There are so many really easy ways to start. My absolute favorite hands-off, no bother, no aggravation, no worry program is Gomez Peer. This is a small program that sits in your system tray and makes you money. It will not make you rich, but you can get gas money from it. You can make up to $45 a month. I have been with them for about 5 years and have accumulated at this very moment $507.14. That is approximately $100 year for doing absolutely nothing. They deposit your money into PayPal every month like clockwork. I have only had one month where it was late and that was very early in the game for them.

The gist of the program is that you allow them use of some of your processing resources while connected to the internet and they pay you for it. They do not spyware you, they do not spam you. Unless you are constantly looking at it, you forget it's even running. It's a nice surprise to have that extra money at the beginning of each month. They usually pay around the 5th of the month, sometimes sooner.

The minimum payout is $5. If you have not made $5 that month due to not being connected or some other thing, it rolls over and accumulates until you do and then they pay you at the beginning of the next month. How simple and fair is that? You don't have to sign anyone up but you can for $1 referral bonus.

The first thing you want to do is have a PayPal account. At the time you are reading this there may be more options, but this is the best one. Then go the Gomez Peer and sign up there. You can then download the program and set it up on your system. Fill out your information in the control panel and you are off! You should start seeing an extra little bit of cash soon!

Would You do It for $5? Maybe $45?

Would you be interested in getting money every month from Gomez Peer? Is $5 enough to get you started? Would you be willing to allow some of your systems resources to be used to make a little extra cash?

Gomez PEER is available for Windows NT/2000/XP/2003. Linux, Mac and Solaris are not supported.

Would you do it for $5?

Yes, I'm always looking for a little extra cash!

Sure,as long as it doesn't try to make any internal changes to my system, then I would love to earn some extra income!

Tipi says:

Something to consider!

ilike2create says:

I think I'll try it out soon.

akumar46 says:

Yeah! I am trying to earn some extra cash.

harry says:

I'd do it for 45 and not 5

No, my system resources are too precious.

hybridmoment1904 says:

Meh, Vista uses up enough resources. Some people have told me of random crashes and SUPER slugish performance withthis program. Not worth a few bucks IMHO. Cool idea though.

Susanne F says:

No absolutely not - I would not let anything like this into my Internet connection and Mac.

Is Gomez Peer Secure?

For those of you of the internet paranoia persuasion, here is the answer to one of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs). This information is provided by the Gomez Peer website.

Is the Gomez PEER secure? Does it provide access to my personal files or data?

The Gomez PEER was designed with security in mind. The PEER defines a "sandbox" on your machine that sets advanced security policies to prevent unauthorized access. Also, the information passed between your machine and our server is encrypted using SSL. The PEER does not allow access to your personal files or data. It only processes the work that is sent to it by Gomez's servers. For this reason, the PEER will not allow your computer to "catch" viruses. The information sent to the Gomez PEER is in message form (not in file form, like an e-mail attachment). Your files and privacy are not compromised by the Gomez PEER.

If you still have questions, there are more FAQs on the Gomez Peer website.

Very interesting. I have not tried anything like this. With this old computer I am not sure I have any spare resources. But I will definitely talk to the guy who built it to see if Gomez Peer is a possibility. Thank you!

Yup, we need to stand on this side of the rainbow. $100.00 a year for doing nothing is better than doing nothing and not getting $100.00 a year for sure and every little bit helps for sure.
