Why do we need organic fertilizers?
It is no secret that we live relatively comfortable lives in comparison to past generations. In fact, our society is structured around convenience. The means by which our food is produced is also an example of this ease.
In order to get larger and better quality crops, we spray our food with toxins and fertilize them with synthetic fertilizers. These unknown substances are not natural to the earth nor are they natural to our bodies. Growing food with toxins does not make sense, especially since we will eventually consume these products. The logical answer to this problem is the use of organic fertilizers, which are derived from natural products.
What are Organic Fertilizers?
Organic fertilizers are fertilizers that are derived from plant or animal matter. They are basically the remains or by-products of a living organism. They can be the following:
Sewage Sludge
Cottonseed Meal
Fish Emulsion
Manure
Blood Meal
Organic Fertilizer Pros
Since they are made from natural substances and are void of toxic chemicals, organic fertilizers won't harm humans when consumed.
They won't rob the soil of its natural nutrients that would eventually lead to erosion.
They are cost effective being that they are produced from wastes.
Gas emissions from machines, tractors, and semis that would be otherwise produced for man-made, store-bought fertilizers, would be eliminated, thus being an eco-friendly alternative.
Take Action
Save the Future
If we continue to be lazy and ignore the problems created by chemical fertilizers, then the destruction of this earth and ourselves is inevitable.Take action and start using organic fertilizers for your own personal needs. Small steps will eventually lead to large scale change. Every aspect matters in a world being overcome by destruction.
