In Memory of Those Who Have Gone Too Soon
I have not get the song, "Gone Too Soon" out of my head for several days after watching Michael Jackson's Memorial Service and realized there may be a reason for it.
I realized that there were many others who had also gone too soon and that I'd already made many lenses to honor their memory. I decided to collect them together in a lens to remember those who were here on this earth, made a mark, but left much too soon..
If you have a heart-felt tribute lens to someone who died too soon, add your information to the plexos Famous and Not so famous below.

People's special tribute to the late pop star looks back at a life like no other. From his impoverished upbringing in Gary, Ind., to child stardom, to the unprecedented global success of Off the Wall and Thriller, to ground-breaking videos, his marriage to Lisa Marie Presley, and the well-publicized dramas of his later years People tells the King of Pop's story as only People can tell it.

- Gone Too Soon - Michael Jackson's Prophetic Song
- The song has been going through my head since I heard Usher sing it at the memorial services. The song is a beautiful message of sadness and sorrow over the loss of a friend, but more so as a prophetic message of Michael Jackson's own passing.

More of My Thoughts on Those Gone Too Soon
- Rest in Peace - June's Deaths
- There must be something in the air or the planets must be in the wrong alignment during the month of June. In the span of a couple of weeks we have lost more than just a few celebrities. Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays and early in the month David Carradine.
- Smile - A Beautiful Heartfelt Musical Memorial
- One of the more touching moment for me came first with Brooke Shields reminiscences that Michael Jackson's favorite song was "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin. His brother Jermaine took the stage with his version of "Smile."
- June 25, 2009. A "Where were you when..." Day
- I was following Twitter the morning reading tweets that Farrah Fawcett had received her last rites. Over the course of a few hours the tweets went from people wishing her well and hoping she would have a chance to marry her long-time companion Ryan O'Neal to news of her death at 9:28 AM.
- Farrah Fawcett - Ryan O'Neal with Another Love Story Movie
- A very moving interview with Ryan O'Neal for the Today Show with Meredith Vieira. In this interview O'Neal talks about Farrah Fawcett's fight against cancer and what appear to be her final days, in a real life story now reminiscent of "Love Story" the movie that introduced us to Ryan O'Neal.
- Sudden Unexpected Loss - Natasha Richardson Hospitalized in Critical Condition after a Skiing Accident
- While everyone waits for an official statement from her family, thoughts are with the family of Natasha Richardson, who went from skiing, talking and joking around to being in the hospital, quite possibly in critical condition in a matter of a few hours.
- Skiing Accident Leads to the Unexpected Death of Natasha Richardson | Grief, Loss & Bereavement Edublog
- This afternoon, soon after posting the first blog entry, news came about Natasha Richardson along with a statement by the family. Unfortunately it was not
- Natasha Richardson's Lasting Legacy as an Organ Donor
- When I posted a couple of days ago, waiting to hear the news about Natasha Richardson, I was hopeful that the family might be able to see the pain of their own grief to consider giving the gift of life. In doing so, the Neeson-Richardson Family could put a face on the topic of organ donation.
- Put Your Advanced Directives in Writing as a Gift to Your Family
- The unexpected death of Natasha Richardson is a reminder to everyone about just how fleeing life is and how unpredictable life can be. Even more so, her death is a reminder to make sure that someone knows your wishes in the event that you are ever placed on life support.

- Gone Too Soon | The Undisputed King of Pop
- I still can't believe it. Days after first hearing the devastating news, I still can't wrap my brain around it. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is dead at the age of 50. The fact breaks my heart, even as I write this.

- Michael Jackson, Gone Too Soon
- You're gone too soon Michael. I do not exaggerate when I say that my heart is in pain. "Born to amuse," he sings, "to inspire, to delight; here one day, gone one night. Like a sunset dying with the rising moon, gone too soon." You are gone too soon Michael.
- Michael: Talent 'Gone Too Soon'
- Michael Jackson is dead. Hardly news now. He passed away Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles. I'm not a Michael Jackson fanatic. I am a fan, but the idolatry that's being heaped on his memory is a bit much. After all, he was just an entertainer. His death being compared to the assassination of President John Kennedy is, I think, way over the top.
- MJ and FF: gone too soon
- Without these two, entertainment will never be the same. I hate yesterday. First the report of Farrah Fawcett's death of anal cancer at 62, then Michael Jackson gets rushed to the hospital, with the news overshadowing Farrah's death.
- Gone too soon - Michael Jackson: 1958-2009 | India.com
- Michael Jackson, internationally known as the "King of Pop," died today at the age of 50. Jackson, who got his start fronting the family band The Jackson 5 at the tender age of eight before enjoying one of the most successful entertainment careers in history, often fell under intense public scrutiny for his personal life but created some of the most popular albums of all time and remained a pop culture fascination through his final years.
