Gone Postal
Ranked #16,333 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #257,755 overall
Gone Postal - Postage stamps of the world on T-shirts. Many of the designs have a lightly distressed look for a more vintage appearance. Interested in philatily? That's stamp collecting. How about history? The world of stamp collecting is a look at the history of the world through these tiny pieces of paper. What a wonderful way to learn.
How I got involved in stamp collecting
Just a little bit about how I got into this hobby. My father-in-law began collecting stamps as a young man. During WWII he would collect stamps from the different countries that he was in and began trading stamps with others that he met. In 1997 he passed away and some of his things came to us. An unassuming box of stamps was one of the items. Well, we didn't know anything about stamps so it was put away and forgotten. Early 2007 we decided to clean out the storage and there was the box of stamps. When I opened it I was at first mildly interested, hundreds of loose stamps all in a jumbled mess. But as I began to go through them I discovered a whole new world opening up. These tiny pieces of paper were not only a window to the past, but beautiful pieces of art. Several years ago, I opened an online store with my wildlife art on t-shirts. So I decided to open another store, Gone Postal, and share these little wonders in a way that everyone can enjoy them. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I am.
I have many, more in my store and invite you to come and have a look. I also have many, many more that I will, in time, be adding so check back often and see what's new.

- I remember clipping stamps as a kid. I have no idea why I was doing it but there were piles and piles of stamps for me to clip.

- Great lens, found you on the ramdom lens viewer. These stamps are really neat to look at, they seem to tell a story, no wonder you collect them.
