I Love Good Debate Topics

Ranked #297 in Squidoo Community, #44,341 overall

Have I Selected Good Debate Topics? Find My On-Line Debates Here:

I have been told that I can debate just about anything. But it does take a bit of planning to find good debate topics. Whether they are fun or serious, politically charged or purely emotional, a good debate begins with a bit of controversy.

One of the many things I love about writing on the Squidoo platform, is how easy it is to start a debate. Squidoo even offers a debate module that keeps track of the total comments on each side of the fence. I have now written a dozen debates using Squidoo's Hey Monkeybrain! theme page. My question to you, did I choose good debate topics? Is fun enough? Or, do good debate topics need to have social significance?

Here you will find my Monkeybrain-ography (this is not a real word). It is a listing of all of my on-line debates. Please link over to your favorite topics and join in that debate.

I didn't even know there were rules. At first I though it might take the fun out of the debate, but actually knowing the material here makes a good debate even more fun!
An excerpt from a customer review from Amazon.com: This is the ultimate 'how-to' book for anyone who wants to use reasons and evidence in support of conclusions, to be clear instead of confusing, persuasive instead of dogmatic, and better at evaluating the arguments of others.

All debates don't have to be hot news topics. Most of us have firm opinons on a lot of lesser topics, from how the toothpaste tube should be rolled to how to hang the toilet paper. It's amazing how fiercely these can be debated. I think you've offered a nice selection.

Well, debating is fighting for what you think is right. It doesn't matter if you win or lose a debate. You will believe what you want to believe.

Ha ha, I was tempted to comment that no way is Monkey Brain a good place to hold a debate, then I thought well of course it is, and this lens proves it! Brilliant!
