Award winning Single Malt Scotch

in the 'good' price range

BOWMORE TEMPEST / 10 Year Old / Batch 2 - Islay - Price 39GBP AWARDS Gold Medal "Best in Class" International Wine and Spirits Competition 2010.
The first bottling of Bowmore's Tempest was one of our favourite whiskies of the year so far, and it looks like you all must have agreed - they've run out! Here's a new batch, which we're sure will be just as good.

ARDBEG 10 YEAR OLD - 35GB -Islay - Price 35GBP
Smokey. Peaty. In your face.
The Ardbeg 10-year won a series of medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition between 2006-2010, winning two gold and three silver medals.

TALISKER 10 Year Old - Islands (Non Islay) Price - 30GBP

TALISKER 10 Year Old - Islands (Non Islay) Price - 30GBP
AWARDS Gold "Best in Class" International Wine and Spirits Competition 2010 / Malt Maniacs Awards 2010: Best Natural Cask Award 2010 (Daily Drams). A massive success as the island representative in Diageo's 'Classic Malts' series, Talisker 10yo's profile keeps increasing as more fans discover its intense coastal spicy, peaty character. A truly elemental malt.

BALMENACH 1999 / CONNOISSEURS CHOICE - Speyside - Price 30GBP.
A youthful Conniosseurs Choice vintage bottling of the little-seen Balmenach, a blend-fodder Speyside distillery whose owners Inver House have yet to release an official bottling despite buying the distillery in 1997 and bringing it out of mothballs the following year. Hopefully that will be rectified soon.

GLEN ELGIN 12 Year Old - Speyside - Price 31GBP
Glen Elgin 12yo is a top-quality malt, highly sought-after for blends. This is a little-seen single malt expression that represents great value for money.

ABERFELDY 12 Year Old - Highland - Price 31GBP
An Eastern Highland malt that was almost unknown until it was bought by Bacardi in 1998, Aberfeldy's main claim to fame is as the heart of the excellent Dewar's blend. Clean and polished malt with a touch of honey and spice.

BRUICHLADDICH WAVES - Islay - Price 31GBP
This is the repackaged edition of Bruichladdich Waves, which has now dropped its age statement (and the peating level slightly too, we're told). In this case, the finishing casks are Madeira.

Most Expensive Scotch

in the 'good' price range

Ardbeg Uigeadail - Islay - Price 50GBP
A fine drop of Ardbeg bottled at cask strength. A marriage of Ardbeg from bourbon barrel and sherry butt which gives a sweet and smokey finish to this malt. Uigeadail is the loch from which all Ardbeg water flows. An absolutely stunning whisky, and following the demise of the Airigh nam Beist this probably represents the best value in the core range.

Balblair 10 Year Old - Highland - Price 50GBP
The now-discontinued Balblair 10yo is a gentle, medium-bodied malt with a pleasantly sweet palate, well-structured with malt, vanilla and honey notes. A great beginners malt.

Glenlivet 12 Year Old / French Oak Finish - Speyside - Price 50GBP
Uniquely finished in French Limousin Oak, from the Dordogne region of France, renowned for bringing flavours to fine wines and cognacs. An elegant 12 year old with a balanced dry, nutty and spicy oakiness.

Imperial 15 Year Old - Speyside - Price 50GBP
