The fact is they are quite similar in that both produce a long lasting fragrance. Both aftershave and cologne would make a good Valentine's Day gift for guys, however there are some key differences between them.

Then there is cologne which is designed for longer lasting fragrance as it has a higher concentration of fragrance. For that reason you will find that cologne is often more expensive.

There are some men who layer their fragrances which means that they will use both aftershave and cologne. So you might want to think about buying him one of each!
