Google Summer of Code

from the Unofficial Google Wiki

Google's Summer of Code is an initiative to encourage open source software development that first ran in 2005. Open source organizations apply to be part of the programme, and are paired up with student developers. The students are given a stipend, and the mentoring organisations are paid if projects are successfully completed.

Reviews

* "Summer Of Code - Six Months On" - Mozilla has a negative experience of the program in 2005.
* "Google's Summer of Code and Mono" - a positive outcome for Mono.
