Now you can. It's fun and easy. Using directory software in combination with google spreadsheets makes it fun and easy to build content to your directory.

PHP Link Directory is a script that you can install on your website that organizes links and articles into a category structure. phpLD has been around since 2005, and is on over 100,000 websites.

Then phpLD has a mod that you can install (or get help installing) that allows you to control the content on your site.

Import and Export for perfect Sync

Using phpLD's new Google Spreadsheet mod you can enter all the link title's descriptions and urls right on the spreadsheet. You can also do things like edit the pagerank, or enter addresses.

We had one customer that hired someone from the Philippines to do data entry of hundreds of addresses, and then they imported them all into phpLD, and used the phpLD map feature as well.

This is a GREAT way to put up a new site with original content, and it makes for easy outsourcing as well.

Spreadsheet Import and Export

Once you have edited the content, it you just click on import in phpLD, and you will have the edits live in seconds. If you receive new submissions to phpLD, you can turn right back around and export the content back to the spreadsheet. You can also add new content to the spreadsheet. So basically, you can sync the google spreadsheet with your phpLD as often as you wish.

The header row in the spreadsheet tells you the names for fields. The fields you can edit include, title, description, URL, category (including any level of subcategories), city, state, zip, phone, pagerank.
