Is there anything to debate? Google vs Yahoo???

GOOGLE vs. YAHOO -- Which side are you on?

I must confess that I am a die-hard fan of Google, despite the minor slap to Squidoo in the summer of 2007. I watched my lenses take a tremendous nose-dive in rankings, but it looks like we've kissed and made up. I've used Google so many times that I've had to replace a couple of keyboards, not to mention more than a couple of mouses. And, I'm just gaga over all those cool Google logos I've been seeing over the years! Ah, what talent and creativity. Oh, don't get me wrong, I appreciate Yahoo, but just not as much as Google. P.S. I hope Yahoo isn't listening!

I love Google's Halloween logos!

The facts on Google

I love Google plain and simple!

Google Inc. is an American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping, office productivity, social networking, and video sharing services as well as selling advertising-free versions of the same technologies. Google has also developed an open source web browser and a mobile operating system. The Google headquarters, the Googleplex, is located in Mountain View, California.

The company has 19,786 full-time employees. The company is running thousands of servers worldwide, which process millions of search requests each day and about 1 petabyte of user-generated data every hour."

Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were students at Stanford University and the company was first incorporated as a privately held company on September 4, 1998. The initial public offering took place on August 19, 2004, raising $1.67 billion, implying a value for the entire corporation of $23 billion. Google has continued its growth through a series of new product developments, acquisitions, and partnerships. Environmentalism, philanthropy and positive employee relations have been important tenets during the growth of Google.

The company has been identified multiple times as Fortune Magazine's #1 Best Place to Work,"100 Best Companies to Work For 2007" and as the most powerful brand in the world. BrandZ Top 100 2008 Report (PDF) Alexa ranks Google as the most visited website on the Internet.

Google's mission is "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful".

Jason says:

First of all, my comment is based solely on the companies' search engines. Yahoo and Google produce a lot of the same results. One has results the other doesn't have and vice versa. However, I feel Yahoo produces better results more often than Google. Google is enjoying popularity because it is "Cool".

Unfortunately most will vote for Google based on the cool factor, and not on its performance.

Jimmie says:

It's not that I don't like Google. But Yahoo is really good to me too! (I think it's because I post links within Yahoo groups and at Flickr.)

yahoo says:
