#1 - The Two Busy Women Behind Gooseberry Patch
Vickie & JoAnn
The idea of Gooseberry Patch started over the back fence of two moms, Vickie and JoAnn. They were looking for a way to make a little money, but still stay home with their young families. They took what they both loved to do -- cooking and crafting -- and turned it into a small business.
From their very first catalog, Vickie and JoAnn made a connection with readers. They found that lots of woman were hungry (sorry for the pun) for their brand of homespun and loved-filled goodness that Gooseberry Patch was delivering. The readers' letters and suggestions were incorporated into the books that followed.
Gooseberry Patch cookbooks are more than just, well, cookbooks. It's a community of woman (and yes, men) just like you and me.

Some require a little work, like sewing or crafting, but other are so easy.
Take this picture above for example. It was an inspiration I got for a Gooseberry Patch book and it took me all of about five minutes to create. In the original Gooseberry Patch interipation of "nested bowls," they used large yellowware bowls filled with fruits and greenery. My yellowware bowls are small, so fruit was out. but the walnuts worked as well. and with a little greenery from the yard, I created a simple centerpiece.
Simple, easy to create decorating ideas are what you can expect to find in the Gooseberry Patch holiday books.
