    I've never been in a youth choir or directed one but those are good tips. In any case where you're dealing with musicians of varying skill levels, you want to make sure you're aware and can mask any poor performances.

    Beautiful job! My stepson attends the L.A. County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) and they have an amazing youth choir.

    This is such a great lens. I love the song choices you have here, and also I love the practical ideas you brought up about rehearsal times, transport etc. I can tell you have lots of experience with this type of thing! :)

    Love that you are writing about something that you know so well and that you can offer such expert advice on. You are so thorough and, though I am not a choir director, I found it very interesting. I sang in my youth church choir and played the handbells. I would have loved to have you as our music director!

    The youth choir my kids sing in sings "We are not ashamed" - I agree it is a good one for young people to sing. I don't think they sing any others on your list.
