Gothic Art Dolls

To look at me you would never guess I had a goth bone in my body, but if you talk to me you'll find that I am not afraid to look at the occult side of life. One of my very favorite books to look at before I could read was the Addams Family Treasury we had. I was fascinated by everything from the pouring of boiling oil on the Christmas carolers to the African witch doctor doing his thing. Later, in junior high, my cousin introduced me to Ray Bradbury and I felt a sort of kinship through his stories. I have often been admonished to smile.

These days I am what is considered a "light worker" in new age circles, but I'm the kind of light worker who is not afraid to go into the dark places to do healing. I'm a shaman, too, which makes me a distant cousin to that African witch doctor. And I live in the 111-year-old house my ancestors built. The dead talk to me, as well. Although I'm sure I was born to do these things, I have no doubt that Addams and Bradbury were sort of mentors along the way.
