If you have the courage to hire or consult with a grant writer or grant expert, they'll usually tell you that it is impossible, there are no government grants for small businesses.

I'll tell you right now, they're wrong. But that is ok with me.

One word: Tax breaks.

Organizations that give grants usually only give grant money if it can be a tax write off. In fact, most grants specifically say that they will only grant money to a 501(c)(3).

What is a 501(c)(3)? It is any organization that is exempt from some Federal income taxes. These types of organizations are able to offer tax writeoffs for any gift they receive. Specifically, a 501(c)(3) is any fund, community chest, foundation, or corporation that exists solely for charitable, religious, literary, educational, scientific, or public safety purposes. Some 501(c)(3)s also support amateur sports or prevent cruelty to animals or children.

Does this sound like your small business? Probably not. You probably can't offer tax deductible receipts for people who give you money either.

That's why the naysayers will tell you it is impossible to get government grants for small businesses.

So How Can You Get These Government Grants For Small Businesses?

You must be able to offer the grant organization the ability to write off their grant gift to you.

There are specific ways you can structure your small business to give it the ability to offer tax breaks. I have at least 43 different ways to do this which I could never fit in this article, but here are a few:

Your small business can form its own non profit, 501(c)(3) and seize large amounts of grant money that other small businesses will never be able to receive. Some of the insiders who use my methods form partnerships with non profits using some unique methods that are rarely discussed in run of the mill small business grants websites.

Sometimes a small business sets up a 501(c)3) and can control the funds given to it by appointing the Board of Directors. There are some specific ways this must be done, but it is done every day by small groups of those who are aware of these methods.

Those who take advantage of these methods can then take hold of many government grants for small businesses, as well as private foundation grants, and those funds can be used to start or expand a for-profit business.
