Currently, most GPS camcorders are hard disk drive models. These offer some nice advantages as far as a great deal of storage and no need to mess with removable media. On the other hand they tend to be a bit bulkier.One model offered is a flash memory camcorder. It's more compact and great for those traveling distances. It's primary drawback would be it's shorter recording time between downloading. Of course, purchasing a memory stick can greatly expand it's storage capacity.

Sony offers a the HDR JP50V (featured at the side of this page) and HDR PJ30V as GPS camcorders that also offer a built-in projector. They record 1920 x 1080 HD video in 60p and 24p. They can also capture 7 megapixel still images. The PJ50V offers a 220GB hard drive and the PJ30V offers 32GB flash memory. Both feature a back-illuminated CMOS sensor for superior low light performance, 12x optical zoom and 17x extended zoom, a high quality wide angle G lens, Dolby Digital 5.1 channel surround sound/microphone, wind noise reduction, and microphone and heaphone inputs to monitor audio.
These camcorders offer a built-in LED flash and video light, slow motion capture capability, an active interface shoe for attaching external lights and microphones, 10 scene modes, and a projector that can project images up to 60" in size. It has 10ANSI lumens brighness and stereo speakers. The GPS offers users the ability to view their current location and geotag photos and video.

It records 1920x1080 HD vdieo and offers 60p playback for smooth video with superior clarity. You can even watch your creations on HDTV using the HDMI cable. It will also capture 12 megapixel still images and has 32GB of internal memory.

This camcorder also features a 2.7" touch sensitive screen, automatic lens cover, and HDMI connection for enjoying your videos on TV. It boasts 16GB flash memory with Memory Stick Media expansion capability. It can store up to 2 hours of HD video and 6 hours of lower quality video before downloading.

- Sorry this was confusing because the picture with the write up was AWOL. Got it fixed. They are BOTH GPS camcorders. However, if you live in the US you want the XR500V pictured below the XR500E. (The 500E is PAL and the 500V is NTSC which is used in the US) Make sense?
