What Is GPS?
GPS stands for the Global Positioning System, a satellite navigation network that consists of 24 satellites orbiting the Earth, relaying the information back to earth to determine the exact location of a GPS receiver at any given moment to within 15 meters, or roughly 15 yards. The satellites were put up into orbit by the U.S. D.O.D(Photo courtesy U.S. Department of Defense.
There Are Two Types Of GPS Systems
Historical GPS Loggers and Real Time GPS Trackers.
If you want to see where a vehicle has been, and real-time data is not important to you, then a GPS Logger might be what you are looking for. You can map the route a vehicle has driven with any GPS Logger. GPS Loggers are good if you need to see if your drivers are staying in their routes, or going to places they should not be. They can also track your lover, spouse, or child, and are helpful to record your travels around an area. They also tend to be less expensive and integrate Google maps, so you can see on a satellite picture the route taken.
Real Time GPS Trackers are used to pinpoint exactly where someone is right now. You can use Internet based software to find out where your GPS is at any second. Great also for employees, spouses, or lovers. These are usually more expensive, and require monthly or yearly fees in order to access the information.
We have lenses on both versions to help you find the right GPS device for your needs. For more information on GPS Loggers & GPS Trackers visit our website.
