The Classic. It is timeless yet contemporary. It might be cliche but it is relevant. Graduation announcements featuring some of the attributes of the graduation such as caps, gowns, tassels and diplomas never go out of style. If you look long enough you will find some truly beautiful designs to match your image.

Class of 2008. You will find a myriad of invitations that proudly feature the 'Class of 2008'. If you are interested in that, try to find the one that features your school colors. It will make a nice impact.

Photo Graduation Announcements. Personalize your announcement by including your own photo. This is probably the fastest growing trend we see. A nice touch is to add your own children's pictures. No matter which one you pick, photo graduation announcements will make a nice impression.

Industry Specific. This is probably more geared towards college graduates. We see more and more industry specific graduation announcements; the announcements are themed according to the degree you earned: medical, dentist, fashion, culinary school, , ...

Use an invitation if you are inviting your friends and family to some kind of party or open house. Use an announcement if you are simply announcing your graduation. In practicality, you are only changing the wording. You can use any type of card for an invitation or announcement.

Do I need to bring or send a gift?
It is not very complicated. If you are invited to a graduation ceremony or party, it is appropriate to send or bring a gift. If you only received an announcement, there is no need to bring a gift.

Are graduates required to send thank you notes to those who send gifts?
Though it may seem like an old-fashioned tradition, thank you notes when a gift is received never goes out of style. Some parents have trouble motivating their graduates to write thank you notes. I suggest letting the graduate pick out their own stationery to use, which may motivate them to show off their thank you cards.

It seems like graduation is a pretty simple process. However, many questions can arise, whether you are a graduate, parent, or guest at a graduation event. The best advice you can receive is to enjoy this fun time of graduation, no matter your role.
