I came to know older Grand Ams when I met my wife. On our first date, she told me about all her cars (a 1980 Fiat and 1973 Grand Am) I thought, "A Grand Am?" not realizing that a 73 was not a gas sipping commuter car, but a 4300 pound last of it's breed muscle car. My snide comment almost made that our last date, but I got a second chance (lucky for me). My wife's father owned a 73 brand new, and she grew up in that car. Sadly, it got too far gone rustwise when she was older, so they bought a loaded out one to restore. Well, 15 years later, it's still not done (typically car nut story right?). But our goal is to get it finished within the next year.
