IT HAPPENS IN THE BEAUTIFUL DAYS SPENT WITH OUR (GRANDKIDDIES)
A LOOK AT A DAY IN THE LIFE, AS A GRANDMA!
The second time around, couldn't be better,
Here they come again, running up the walk, The door flinging open wide.
"HI GRAMMA", "HI PAPA", knowing they are going to receive our undivided attention.
At the same time we take a deep breath,
and ready ourselves for the hours ahead.
But Wait!
SOMEHOW GRANDPA HAS DISAPPEARED!

LIST OF ACTIVITIES
WHATEVER THEY WANT!
I discovered very early on, its not worth the effort to fight it, just learn to enjoy it!
RELAX, Most activities last a very short time,
THEIR ATTENTION SPAN IS VERY SHORT,
jUST SMILE AND PRETEND YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE SAYING,
or you will hear those endering phrases,
OH GRANDMA!
NO THIS WAY GRANDMA!
I'M TELLING PAPA!
YOU'RE NOT MY BEST FRIEND ANY MORE!
I WANT MY MOMMY!
GRANDMA'S UNITE!

REMEMBER, "THEY ARE GOD GIVEN"
FROM THE CORE OF MY HEART, I SWEAR,

A Change of Priorities "is" Necessary :
If you pride yourself in the beauty of your homes tidiness, forget it!
If you don't feel like getting down on hands and knees, get used to it!
If you were not planning on baking or playing play dough,
it'll be ok, after they leave, it will only take an hour or two to clean up!
Don't forget the things you'll discover in your own back yard,
birds, squirrels, bugs, and of course they love to dead head you're beautiful flowers!

This is where you get to exhale and catch your breath,
uuuuhhhhh,
This is also the time you get to catch up bit from the events of THE DAY,
dumping the blocks, tipped over crayons, accidental spills. But do it quietly, "don't want to wake em".

perhaps exercise to keep yourself in shape would be a great choice

- Oh this lens is fun! Being a grandma is the bestest role I ever had! They do keep us young! and you are so right, there is nothing as special as these precious children running to the door, happy to see us, calling our names, and ready to be spoiled for a few hours! I am so thankful my grands live nearby! I will think on my favorite quote and return! Thank you for such a happy lens!

- I live 400 miles away from my grandchildren, so I get in my car and drive to visit them for a week's visit as often as I can. Lately, that's about every 6 weeks. I long to live nearby, and am planning for that in my retirement. Thanks for joining Senior Geek Squids Group! 5*
