Bead Work, Bead Design, and Crafting

GrandmaMarilyns

You will find beautiful beaded jewelry, beaded patterns, and other crafts here. I will probably take some of my beauties to other lenses but they will be linked to this one. As I create lenses, I will be showing you my wonderful new items, both bead work and bead designing, as well as wonderful creations from other crafters, jewelrymakers, bead designers, and items that just fascinate me.

I beaded up this beauty. I fell in love with the way the cuff turned out. This bracelet is available in size 6.5 at Stained Glass Cuff Bracelet. The pattern is available at Stained Glass Cuff Bead Pattern if you would like to bead one up yourself. If you do bead one up yourself, I would love to see the photos of the finished item.

All photos are my private collection and are not to be copied.

The Growth of Grandma Marilyn's

From crocheting to bead design

Pearl and Candy Jade BraceletI have been a crafter ever since I could remember. I started out with crocheting and other crafts.

Late in 2005, I discovered beading. I started small making some ornaments and easy beading. I had to have a pattern or I could not bead. Of course, all of my crafting has been that way ever since I could remember. I used to say that I did not have a creative bone in my body. I started doing harder and harder patterns. My beadwork can be found in my GrandmaMarilyns Etsy Shop.

I found some beading software and started playing with it coming up with some patterns that I beaded up and put up for sale. Other bead designers, such as Glenda Payseno and Marie Starr, started working on my self-esteem and convinced me to make some beading patterns and put them up for sale. Well, I am proud to say that my beading patterns are now for sale in my GrandmaMarilynsToo Etsy Shop.

As I create lenses, I will be showing you my wonderful new items, both bead work and bead designing, as well as wonderful creations from other crafters, jewelrymakers, bead designers, and items that just fascinate me.

The above pictured bracelet can be purchased in a size large or 8 inches at Candy Jade Bracelet. This lovely bracelet was made from a pattern designed by Glenda Payseno and is being sold with her approval.

Bead Pattern Designing

I am open to suggestions for new pattern designs

Diamonds and Triangles BraceletAs I stated in my other module, I could not work without a pattern. I started creating bead patterns and I still need a pattern but at least it is my own pattern I am using. I started out making bracelets in the peyote stitch. Then the customers requested that I make some in loom so I proceeded to do so. I don't have that many loom patterns yet, but am going to try to make all of my peyote patterns into loom patterns eventually.

The picture attached was the first bead pattern of my own that I beaded up. It was for an Etsy Beadweavers (EBW) Team challenge. I didn't turn it in in time but you can't have everything. This peyote bracelet was created with Matsuno seed beads.

This bracelet is available in size large or 8 inch in my ecrater shop. The is a pattern is available for this bracelet also in my Bead Patterns Boutique shop. Remember, if you make one of my patterns, I would love to see a photo of the finished item.

Bead Woven Accessorie Sets Patterns

Wouldn't you love to have one of these pen wrap, lip balm and lighter cover sets

Diamonds and Triangles Accessory Set PatternA few months before Christmas, I started thinking of small projects that could be beaded up quickly and came up with patterns for Pilot G-2 Pen Wraps. Then I thought, why not coordinate the pen wraps with the lighter and lip balm covers and have an accessory set. After the bead patterns are all put out individually, I am making an ebook with all 3 patterns in it. Now, I am considering making a book with multiple sets in them in a category type book (i.e, Native American and so on). I have so many of these sets designed but they all have to be beaded up.

If it weren't for my Bead Angels, I wouldn't get as far as I do now. My Bead Angels bead up the patterns and let me know anything that needs to be fixed in it, they take pictures of each step and then I request on the sets that they take one with all 3 finished pieces together. Oh this makes them look wonderful. Currently, my Bead Angels are Ellen Roskopp, Pat Tipton aka Mama Hen, Tammy Uren, and Jean Baer.

Get the Diamonds and Triangles Accessory set. Just click that link. To get my other bead patterns, you can go to Bead Patterns Boutique or my eCrater Bead Pattern Shop. To tell you the truth, Bead Patterns Boutique has the most current listing of my patterns.

A friend on Zibbet that sells Zboxes, that I send samples for, made this video for my Zibbet shop. If you are interested in getting one, you had better hurry after the 15 of each month as they disappear quickly. You get a lot of cool samples in each box.

Filet Roses and Lilies Bracelet Pattern

Loom and 2 Drop Peyote Versions Available

Filet Roses and Lilies Bracelet in 2 drop Peyote bead patternMy Bead Angel, Jean Baer, just finished beading up both the peyote and loom versions of the Filet Roses and Lilies Bracelet pattern for me. She tests the pattern for me so that you will get an error free pattern. They came out so beautiful.

I got my inspiration for this bracelet from a filet crochet pattern from the early 1900's. I will be adding this pattern to my various pattern sites under my filet pattern series. Keep an eye out for the next pattern Jean is beading for me.

If ever you find an error in any of my patterns, just let me know because we may have missed it. I will correct it and send it out to everyone who purchased the pattern. I always accept criticism whether good or bad. How else can I continue to learn.

To get the 2 drop peyote version click peyote. To get to the loom version click loom.

Beautiful designs. I'm not sure my eyes could handle working with such small beads. Thanks for sharing. Bear hugs, Frankster

You would be surprised what your eyes let you do. Really, I get the needle to the edge of the center of the bead and pop it on the needle. Thank you for leaving a compliment, Frankster.

Love the designs, Will be back to check out some of your other sites. I do basic stringing but have wanted to learn the different weaves to broaden the beading classes I can teach.
Other beaders are my biggest inspiration and this is very inspiring.
  • grandmamarilyn Aug 9, 2011 @ 9:21 pm | delete
If I can be of any help, let me know. I know quite a few of the different weaves.

Hi GrandmaMarilyn, (I wonder if we are the same age) Thanks for visiting my Cherry Vanilla Smoothie and Bomb Recipe lens. So happy you enjoyed it-too. I agree it is important to have foods that are enjoyable on hand - to help keep us & our goals on track - no matter if they are weight loss and/or concerning our blood sugar levels. So happy you are helping your 14 year old grand-daughter now before she is a diabetic.
I will try to add some other recipes that will help also. I create them all the time for those in my classes. Be sure to let me know what type you enjoy.
Thanks for the visit and the lovely comment...
  • grandmamarilyn May 28, 2011 @ 3:07 pm | delete
I don't know, Carmel, are you 61 or thereabouts? I was so happy when I found your smoothie recipes as we all need a nice treat that won't kill our blood sugars. I told my daughter about them and she said she tried one but did her own and didn't like it. I always try exactly as written before I branch out. LOL
