My grandmother is a gift
She was born in 1930 and is still alive. She has been such a wonderful grandmother to have and I feel blessed to have her as my grandmother. She is the type of person who always thinks of others. She has always been nurturing and takes care of everyone else.

Treasures with my Grandmother
I loved having my grandmother in my life and I often spent weekends and other times of the year with her. I was named after her so we have the same first name Patricia. She has always been a very generous person in all ways not just materialistic. When I was young she would always bring a kit kat when she came to pick me up because she knew that was my favorite candy bar. She has always been thoughtful like that.
I spent many brunches and lunches with her at nice restaurants sometimes meeting other relatives, sometimes it was just her and I. We loved or at least I loved going with her to South Coast Village which was a place in Orange County with shops. They had great toy stores and The Belgian Waffle restaurant where we would get waffles. I have many fond memories like that of my times with my grandmother that I treasure.
I always thought she was beautiful

Treasures
A poem for my Grandma
You loved me with your angel arms
and kissed my fears away
You helped me when I needed it
and loved me every day
You made me soup
You listened to my excessive chatter
You never judged
Just loved me anyway
You let me be myself
Played with me
Took me here and there with you
Like I was important too
The little girl in me
The little girl in you
Your hugs were healing
Your love was never ending
And now that I am grown
I may be a grandma soon
I remember fondly being loved by you
And treasure you
The way that you treasured me

- Even decades after I lost them, I still miss my Nana, and my Mazie, too. I even talk to them now and then, just before I go to sleep. Now I'm the grandma, trying to forge the same close bond with my grandkids who live far from my home right now. My mom has 12 grand children and 3 great-grands - she's still active and health, so I'm hoping when I'm 80 or older I'm still driving my own car and as busy as she is today. I want to dance at my grand daughters' weddings!

- Yes, I thought my maternal grandmother was the best grandmother you could ever have...
I was supposed to be born on her birthday and came a little early but we're both Taurus...and still connected though she's gone. Love the lens! 5*****
