Discover the Benefits of Grape Seed Extract and WHY You Should Take Grape Seed Extract

Grape Seed Extract is one of those very rare natural remedies that actually does produce amazing benefits. I personally have used grape seed extract for years and quite frankly without it I may not have been able to be alive today, writing this article on the benefits of grapeseed extract.

I'm not going to post any unbelieveable online testimonials that may be true and then again may be as phony as a 3 dollar bill or tell you that grape seed extract cures everything from hangnails to prostate cancer. Instead, I am simply going to share with you what I know or have learned about grapeseed extract personally, throw in some scientific research to back up what I say as being potentially true, and you can judge for yourself the credibility of the information I pass on in regards to the benefits of grape seed extract.

WHY I Use Grape Seed Extract

Grapeseed extract relieves pancreatitis painI personally discovered grape seed extract in 1994 and thought that its benefits were simply to good to be true but I gave it a try because I had chronic pancreatitis and sometimes acute pancreatitis episodes and quite frankly I was searching for some way to beat the condition.

I found out the proclaimed benefits of grapeseed extract are true, at least in my case, as real and true as the nose on your face. I don't recall exactly how long it was before I saw some real benefit but I don't believe it was more than a few weeks. I started feeling better, the pain began to be less frequent and the tenderness in my abdomen began to fade. You can read all about it here: My Living with Pancreatitis Story

Grape Seed Extract Contains OPC's

GrapeseedGrapeseed Extract is full of flavonoids, called OPC's (oligomeric proanthocyanidins), and it is these flavonoids that seem to be responsible for the benefits seen by those who consume grape seed extract.

Previously I mentioned that I believe it is because of grape seed extract I am still alive and in essence that is what I believe but there are several other factors involved as well such as a particularily low fat diet and several dietary supplements, one of which is grapeseed extract. You can read my blog here: My Living with Pancreatitis blog

Jacques Masquelier (aka Jack Masquelier, born in 1922 in Paris, died 24 February 2009) is the French scientist credited with the discovery of oligomeric proanthocyanidins or OPCs.

Masquelier actually discovered OPC's in the skin of peanuts however he went on to find it in grape seed and French Maritime Pine Bark as well, developed an extraction process and then proceeded to trade name his product Pycnogenol. In other words nobody, neither manufacturer or seller of grapeseed and/or pine bark products, can call their concoction Pycnogenol, except Masquelier who is now dead as of 2009.

Masquelier promoted that his Pycnogenol could relieve symptoms of or cure almost anything, from hangnails to cancer. Other promoters say similar things but I rely only on what I can discern from my own personal experience and scientific research I have been able to dig up.

Grape seed extract is highly anti-inflammatory and since the major diseases such as cancer and heart disease (atherosclerosis) have been linked to inflammation it is very possible that GSE is beneficial in preventing both diseases.

The Potentcy of Grape Seed Extract ...

OPC's (oligomeric proanthocyanidins) are thought to be the most powerful antioxidant known to man and grape seed extract is full of OPC's. They are 20 times more potent than vitamin C and 50 times more potent than vitamin E. As you read the research compiled within this page you'll begin to understand the potential and possibilities that grapeseed extract offers and you may want to try some for yourself. Is Grape Seed Extract Beneficial for Cancer?

Do research and form your own conclusions!

Big PharmaI am NOT a doctor nor am I a scientist so anything you read on this page is to be taken as opinion ONLY; However, there is plenty of research out there (if you know where to look) that clearly suggests that grape seed extract may be beneficial in both preventing and combating cancer growth. In fact, there is evidence that suggests grapeseed extract actually promotes apoptosis (programmed cell death) of cancer cells.

There is more and more scientific interest in grape seed extract and while good (especially since there is evidence that grapeseed is powerful enough to promote apoptosis) the problem lies in the fact that our own FDA is trying as hard as they can to take away our freedom of choice when it comes to natural remedies. The FDA has been trying to do this for years ever since ...

They became puppets of and basically owned by Big Pharma,  1992 Prescription Drug User Fee Act, which creates a real bad environment for our freedom of choice in regards to any natural or herbal remedy that may show potential and thereby squeeze off the promise of profits for the drug lords.

Anyway, on this page you will find evidence that grapeseed extract may be beneficial in reducing cancer risk, even promoting cancer cell death and that is another reason I consume it on a daily basis. Since pancreatic cancer is a risk in those who suffer from long-term chronic pancreatitis it just makes common sense to ingest it daily for the possible protection against pancreatic cancer along with the amazing fact that grapeseed extract does help to eliminate pancreatitis pain (in my experience).

Unfortunately there isn't much available in regards to liver, pancreatic and ovarian cancers; however, one would be able to surmise that grapeseed extract surely couldn't hurt when wanting to prevent these types of cancers as well, again just my opinion.

Douse the Flame of Inflammation

Grape seed extract, Curcumin, Vitamin C

These powerful antioxidants douse the flame of inflammation (I personally use them to keep me free of Pancreatitis pain), they have also shown promise as anti-angiogenisis agents (inhibit cancer growth) and protect the arteries from atherosclerosis.

Grape Seed Extract Summary

Grapeseed benefits summaryOnce you go through the supporting evidence (research) it is difficult to refute the protective and healing potential of grape seed extract.

I have my own personal experience to draw upon whereas you may not have such an experience but ...

All you need to do is to simply read the research contained on this page and it will be extremely difficult for you to come to any other conclusion except the one that clearly says grape seed extract is somewhat of a super star when it comes to health benefits.

I agree with Tipi knowing it HAS worked for you and reading about your real life story is much more interesting and believable than the hard sellers of drugs and cure it products. Even though I am blessed with good health, I found this another eye opener and will pass it on to my Mum (illy vanilly!) Again, with thanks and appreciation. Cathi x

Someone with a real life testimony has it all over someone with a theory, grape seed extract has served you well and now you are spreading the word to others. OPC's are potent in our bodies and I think there will be additional benefits found over time. In the mean time we need to hear about what works and you are getting the word out well here.
