Have you had any experience with social funding?

From the lens Grassroots Funding.

The name of our campaign is "Step Up To The Plate". Lensrolling this lens to our Friends of the Park. Thanks

    Hello--
I'm pretty sure I saw this Lens once before. At least, I know for sure I learned about Kickstarter on Squidoo. Thanks a ton! I've started my own "grassroots" fundraising effort to 1) commission a cover art piece for the book I intend to self-publish and 2) use any remaining money to promote the book once I have it ready to publish. If I can find the support for it, I'll "pay it forward" when I get the chance. Here's the URL: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1733819807/i-need-help-to-commission-cover-art-for-my-e-book
  • squidluck Mar 15, 2010 @ 5:01 pm | delete
Very noble cause. I hope and pray you will reach the pledges you need.
  • mysticmama Mar 6, 2010 @ 4:17 pm | delete
Wonderful & Blessed by a Squid Angel!
  • MysticTurtle Mar 6, 2010 @ 4:24 pm | delete
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so happy for everyone's help in getting this noticed...Ramkitten's project only has 32 more days to be fully funded.
  • theraggededge Mar 6, 2010 @ 1:40 pm | delete
Fabulous lens. Hope all these worthwhile projects receive the funding they need.
  • Ramkitten Mar 6, 2010 @ 12:57 pm | delete
Thank you so much for your support, Nancy! This is great! I don't know if the fundraiser will be successful, but I won't forget what you've done for me. It means a LOT. One way or another, I'm going to Nepal and will see the project through. Of course, I lensrolled, Stumbled, Digg(ed), Tweeted, etc. :)
  • MysticTurtle Mar 6, 2010 @ 2:33 pm | delete
LOL, I went to Digg it, and it already was....first time that's ever happened! And this one was indexed in Google overnight...another first.
  • Wednesday_Elf Mar 6, 2010 @ 10:19 am | delete
Creative grassroots funding is a very clever and helpful way to raise money for worthy causes and projects. Ramkitten's Himalaya Rescue Dog Squad in Nepal book will be a fantastic way to enlighten people around the world of the wonderful volunteer work these rescue dogs and their trainers and handlers do in Nepal. I wish Deb well in meeting her financial goals so she can complete this worthy project. MysticTurtle, you are doing a great service featuring these grassroots funding projects.
  • MysticTurtle Mar 6, 2010 @ 10:37 am | delete
Thanks, W_Elf. I believe we are all connected, so it's important to support one another in this world. I try to do what little I can from my little corner. I'm thrilled that Squidoo gives me a platform that I can afford (Free!).
  • pkmcr Mar 6, 2010 @ 5:08 am | delete
A really wonderful lens and a great way of paying tribute to the amazing Deb (Ramkitten) - Well done!
  • MysticTurtle Mar 6, 2010 @ 5:18 am | delete
Thank you. I've always wanted to help people get projects off the ground, but never had money to donate. This is one small thing I can do. Of course, now I'll be forever updating this lens as projects close.
