The Grateful Dead Live ~ Dick's Picks Online

Ranked #1,351 in Music, #36,291 overall

Dick's Picks Vol.1 - Vol.36

Dick's Picks refer to the collection of cd's put together by Dick Latvala, the former custodian of the Grateful Dead tape vault until 1999.
From 2000 on the rest of the collection was supervised by David Lemieux, they decided to keep the name Dick's Picks.

Dick's Picks is a collection of live Grateful Dead shows from different locations from the 60's through the 90's. Everyone has their favorite shows, but Dick's Picks are some of the best Grateful Dead live performances caught on tape.

Dick's Picks MP3's

Vol.1 - Vol.36

Here's a chance to get your favorite Dead shows on digital format.
Some of these rare disks can go in the triple digits on cd, but you can have the music for way less....

The first release was put out in 1993, Dick's Picks Vol.1 (Tampa -12/19/1973). The next releases weren't until 1995, when Vol.2 (Columbus -10/31/1971) and Vol.3(Pembroke Pines- 5/22/1977) came out after some deliberation between some of the band members and Latvala.

Dick's Picks are a great way to build your Grateful Dead live collection on cd's or on mp3's.
Get these rare hard to find disks on MP3 format and make them your own....:)rwjr

Steal Your Face Poster

This is a killer poster...I use to have one that was a color in, it was black and white and you could color it any way you wanted. I worked for hours and hours on that poster and maybe got half of it done. It was lost somewhere on the way and when I saw this poster it made me smile, it looks alot better than the one I colored on, this thing has lots of detail you really have to take a close look...:)

All of them! I started going to shows in the early 90s, but I love listening to the ones from the 70s and 80s. In fact, I listen most every day... :)

Dick made my life a living hell when I managed a CD shop. Trying to keep up with his selections was just a futile and ridiculous process. Shakedown Street is my favorite track and I have a profound respect for Jerry's artwork. I can't say I'm a deadhead, but I do have respect for them.
  • Close2Art Oct 27, 2011 @ 11:57 pm | delete
Right on, Shake Down Street has that 70's disco vibe to it...I love it too...I never thought about having to keep up with all the Dicks Picks in a cd store, I bet it was frustrating...Thanks Joe for the comment, much appreciated

I love your comment that the Grateful Dead were like wine, better with age...and this almost deadhead angel just had to return with a little angel dust to celebrate 6 Groundhogs Day.
