A historic gem in the heart of London

The best things in life are always secrets waiting to be shared and Grays Inn is jsut one of those gems. It is one of the four Inn of Court but what many people dont know is that is is available for private hire. It is perfect for weddings and anniversary parties as well as more formal charity and business events. In the winter months our Elizabethan hall comes to life evoking the spirit of Christmases past and in summer our extensive gardens (one of the largest private gardens in London) are the focus of all activities.

What are Inn of Court

The Inns of Court in London are the professional associations to one of which every barrister in England and Wales (and those judges who were formerly barristers) must belong.Chris Roberts, Heavy Words Lightly Thrown: The Reason Behind Rhyme, Thorndike Press,2006 (ISBN 0-7862-8517-6) They have supervisory and disciplinary functions over their members. The Inns also provide libraries, dining facilities and professional accommodation. Each also has a church or chapel attached to it and is a self-contained precinct where barristers traditionally train and practise, although growth in the legal profession, together with a desire to practise from more modern accommodation caused many barristers' chambers to move outside the precincts of the Inns of Court in the late 20th century.
