Visit some of the best gardens in the world

If you are travelling - for real or in virtual time - start here if you want to visit a really great garden.

This resource focuses on my hand-made sites - which provide linformation about some of the best gardens in the world - and lists of links to other great gardens in specific geographical areas

At the moment, this resource has a UK bias but my plan is to develop it over time as I visit new gardens around the world. If you have a suggestion please leave a comment in the feedback section

The image is of part of the Garden of Love at the Chateau de Villandry in France which I visited in October 2009.

Chateau de Villandry & Gardens
Villandry was completed toward 1536 and was the last of the large chateaus built in the Loire Valley during the Renaissance. It had a formal garden in the eighteenth century. The traditional gardens were destroyed in the 19th century to create an English-style park around the chateau.
The present garden dates from the years after 1906 when it was bought by a Spaniard, Dr Joachim Carvallo.
Jardin des Tuileries | GardenVisit.com, the garden landscape guide
A key project in the history of garden design and in development of Paris as an axial city. The Jardin de Tuileries was made on the site of a tile-works (tuileries), within the old walled city on the banks of the River Seine. The original division of the space, by allees, has survived many changes. It began as a private royal pleasure garden, with flowers and fruit.
