Great Gifts for Boys

Boys are Different Creatures for Sure!

As you can see here - my husband and I have four boys - so over the past 13 years I've learned a few things about raising boys! People always ask us if we hoped for a girl ~ to be honest with you I have NO IDEA what to do with a little girl. I grew up in sort of a tomboyish way myself, so not sure how I'd manage that.

So, here we are shopping for little boys! Whether it's their birthday, Christmas, or just for the fun of it, shopping for boys can be a little tough sometimes. For one thing, the stores are packed full of clothes, toys, and accessories for GIRLS, and just a tiny selection for the boys. It makes me want to scream and shout when I walk into a store looking for something for my kids (especially clothes) and I can't find a darn thing that they're going to like.

It's a challenge for sure, so I'm here today to help make it a little easier and share a few gifts that have won me bonus points and huge smiles with my boys. Hopefully this makes your next shopping for boys experience a little less stressful.

Bakugan Battle Packs!

Ready, Set, Play!

The boys love these things (and the show on TV too!) I don't understand any of it to be perfectly honest with you. I tried watching the show with them several times and I just don't "get it" - I think that makes me officially old.

Bakugan Battle Pack, 6 Bakugan (Styles & Colors May Vary)

The Bakugan Battle Pack includes a random selection of six Bakugan warriors. It also includes eight metal cards and instructions.

The popular and fun anime TV series "Bakugan Battle Brawlers" has spawned this strategic game that pits a variety of "Bakugan warriors" -- such as "Juggernoids," "Fear rippers," and "Robatallians" -- against each other for points. With this Bakugan Battle Pack, kids 4 and above will enjoy the challenge of earning points by rolling their Bakugan onto magnetic cards where the plastic spheres burst open to reveal the fearsome warrior apparatus inside. Kids will also love the way the Bakugan transform suddenly into warrior mode, and fans of the show will have an especially good time with the game.

Prince of Persia Dagger of Time AND Movie

What boy wouldn't want to be a time traveling battle hero?

Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time role play dagger from McFarlane Toys Comes with glow feature, flowing "sands of time" feature, authentic design and soft vinyl blade for safe play-action.

McFarlane Toys Prince of Persia Movie Collectible Replica Prop Dagger of Time

The boys loved this movie and they've already watched the DVD three times since getting it September 14th!

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Dinner and A Movie

No giftwrap required!

This gift doesn't come in a box and doesn't need a bow, but it's one of my boys' favorite things to do for a reward for a fantastic report card, a special celebration, or just on a rainy day to get out of the house.

We try to reserve trips to the movie theater for special occasions or rewards, because let's face it, the movie theater is the most overpriced place on the entire planet! We things under budget by avoiding the concession stand and hitting an afternoon movie for half price whenever possible.

LEGO Star Wars Kits

I laugh because I had Star Wars toys when I was a kid...

The most famous ship in the Star Wars galaxy - at an all-new scale!

LEGO Star Wars Midi-Scale Millennium Falcon #7778

Blasting out of the new Clone Wars TV series, it's Anakin Skywalker's customized Jedi starfighter! (My boys are crazy fro Clone Wars! Every new episode is an event to them.)

Tell me what you think.....

Great lens, I have both, but not going to comment on them either way (for my own personal safety - hahaha). Anyway thanks for the great Ideas.

Pretty good collection. Still, girls are as much trouble as boys minding my own girl (at least she's one and not four). I admire you looking after four kids -leave alone the gender here. Just a thought. Thumbs up to all of your lenses I've read so far, and ... exclusive Holidays this year!

I'm like you, I would have no idea what to do with a girl. People keep telling us we should try for a girl (we have two boys) and I tell them that if we try again, we're going for two more boys! Great list, I like the look of those HexBugs!

Thanks for the ideas! I have 2 teen grandsons who live so far away I never see them, and I have no idea what they like or have. Talk about difficult gift buying!

My husband and I raised three boys ourselves. Gifts were a challenge for us, too. We could never go wrong with Legos, though.

You know what toy for boys was my absolute favorite? (Besides Tonka - there is no contest - Tonka is the KING!!) But I loved those dudes with the big ol' FEET! Hang on, hang on, it'll come to me.... thinking....

    thinking.....

good gravy! I always forget - it's not coming to me! Searching Amazon - hang on!~

Oh wait! My brain just unleashed it from its dungeon, dark and deep!!
