Great Gifts for the Homeless

Ranked #11,036 in Culture & Society, #224,165 overall

Squid Angels blessed this lens => Welcome to my Holiday Gift Guide!

Christmas is a season to be jolly. Unfortunately, there are people who can't be jolly at all. Either they had a divorce, lost their jobs, lost their belongings due to natural calamities, got jail term for minor offenses, lost their money due to Wall Street crash and whatever the cause may be.

We are lucky to have roofs above our heads. Our homes are warm from the heat coming from the wood furnaces in our living rooms. At the touch of the button, we can regulate the temperature anytime of the day. We can dictate whatever we want to have it.

Of course, lots of organizations will give them warm food and warm drinks this Christmas but after the Holiday Season, what happens?

I have a very good idea to make their lives a little bit decent. The best gifts for the homeless will be any of these like container homes, garden houses, plastic wedding party canopies, warm blankets, warm winter coats, Ugg winter shoes or shoes from Timberland, etc.

The governments are spending so much money on other things like wars, welfare of other countries, etc. Why not take care of your own people? Happy Holidays!

Homeless in Osaka Japan

type=text

Industrialized countries like the U.S., Japan, France or anywhere, homelessness is rampant. There are not much institutions or housing for them to use. Below is a photo of homeless people living in self-made plastic canopies. If they could buy the plastic canopies from Amazon, at least, these are aesthetic to see.

Container Housing

Maybe you would think that this kind of housing is too fancy for homeless people. At least, they have a place to store their belongings and sleep during night time provided that they won't drink any alcohol or use illegal drugs.

Once homeless people have a valid address, they can find a job and start a new life, probably, renting apartments they can afford.

Lifetime Garden Sheds

This type of Garden Shed is also ideal to house homeless people to keep them warm during cold winter nights. This is much better than sleeping in the open.

Random acts of kindness for the homeless are good any time of the year. Give blankets, coats, food, anything you can to help. Even if it is only one can of soup you can spare, it is one more can than they had yesterday.

Great gift ideas for the homeless. Anything we give is helpful and appreciated, hopefully. I have been homeless, as a child and again as an adult, so I know how easy it can happen and how important it is that society as a whole do what is necessary to eradicate homelessness.

My heart breaks for the homeless. It is often hard to know exactly how to help. You have made several really good suggestions.

Homelessness is an ever-increasing problem that desperately needs more solutions and assistance. It's a crying shame that anyone has to exist this way. Thanks for your thought-provoking lens.

Homelessness is becoming an increasingly desperate problem as the gap between the rich and poor widens. It is a sad topic to have to exist in our modern age.

interesting lens. I think the best thing anyone can get a job and the next best thing is the skills to get a better job. While the parents get back on their feet than giving to the kids on Christmas is no a bad thing.

I hope people continue to help the homeless throughout the year.

The homeless population of the world is ever increasing. This is always needed to cover this issue.

Wonderful lens. We have people die under bridges here every winter just trying to keep warm. I do what I can to send warm hats, scarves, blankets etc to locations that help the homeless. And I agree that in this country we should NOT have a homeless population. Turns my stomach!

We really should not have homeless people, it is such a shame. I think money is good to give to them as well. I don't really worry about how they might spend it. I think if I was in their situation I might spend it on booze too.
