    I have now added checking out some of these groups to my squid to do list. My list keeps getting longer with all the great lensmaster--I love it.

    I've been trying to make time to update all of my groups to the new lens format - they're a lot different now, so it's tough. Thanks still for pointing out these great groups from the past.

    It is such a shame that any activity to decide what is happening with Groups appears to have ground to a halt - particularly as GroupMasters like you have doine so much to create quality Groups.

    I've also just featured this btw when I am giving advice in a lens about joining groups - I've suggested people check the groups listed here first. I don't know what will happen to groups but I hope that all of these survive the transition.

    Yes, I did read #4. My group has less than 100 lenses and all of them are featured on the group page. I do have a blog and plug lenses from my group, as well as lenses by other lensmasters. All lensmasters in the group have their faces on the page, if they have a book I plug it for them, all of the lenses are sorted by category and I think that covered all of the criteria.     I just revamped it and hopefully made it better. Hell, I sure hope so since I spent an entire evening working on it. If it doesn't meet your criteria, I would appreciate it if you let me know how I can make it better. I worked on the color scheme, added more pictures and linked and categorized every single lens that belongs in that group.

    Thanks for your time! And this is a great idea for a lens.

    Sure - I have one group for only my lenses as well. No problem.

    As for having an orange squid in the intro picture - I'm not using that as a criterion because uploading one in one way will still keep the orange squid - and another way won't. So it's quite confusing. The group page may look great, and yet when featured here it doesn't.

    In general group pages don't get featured on lenses anyhow, so why should they bother with the intro picture? But it's mainly to do with the difficulty of editing groups.

    Thanks for including my groups which have won excellent group awards! :)

    I think it's worth noting that people who follow the lenses I make think it's a great idea that I have groups which contain just my lenses - because they tell me! Basically each of these groups is a bookmark for those with specialist interest in a particular aspect of art.

    However I only created these groups after I'd already created the groups which other lensmasters are eligible to join. That's fair isn't it?

    PS I'm not keen on groups which haven't yet bothered to have a picture so all we see is a big old squid!

    This is a really nice lens about the great groups. Great idea.

    I took over the "All Things Travel" group from Kim Giancaterino last month, but for some reason it shows up as "Travel As An Insider" and the group image doesn't show up. Thanks for featuring this.

    I also have my own Humor group "Laugh Away" which I hope you will like. I have tried to keep it for only the funniest lenses on Squidoo, and I think it has a good collection already from some of the new lensmasters.

    Hi Katinka! I'm back again with a group I took over from another lensmaster. I've been working on bringing it up to speed and while I still have a backlog of close to 100 lenses to wade through before approving/rejecting, I think the group is shaping up enough for your inspection!

    I've visited this lens on several occasions to find good groups for my niche lenses. It is a great list! I recently started a group so I'd like to throw my Baby Showers Group (http://www.squidoo.com/groups/baby-showers-group) into the ring for consideration now that we have a bunch of members. Thanks.

    What it does - it gives them a backlink. Featuring the badge is not mandatory (though obviously appreciated). And because most group masters do feature the badge, and because other lenses about groups feature this one - the backlink from this page is a very decent one.

    Besides I started this lens out as a way to stimulate quality in squidoo groups. And because I am picky, groupmasters feel it to be an honour to be included. Which is, I hope, why most do put the badge on their group page.

    And lots of lensmasters use this as a starting place to find groups for new lenses - because among the crap it is hard to find good groups.

    And lets be honest here - there is more use to being featured here, then there is for lensmasters to be members of most groups: as they usually do NOT get featured, but DO give an automatic link back to the group. The link pattern is reversed if you get my drift (think math & graphs).

    Well at your suggestion I started up a group on Weight Loss - I have had many lenses submitted but alas, not many fit the criteria for the group ;) However, there are now some lenses in there, which I have divided into categories and all lenses will be featured. So I would love your opinion on it and whether it is now ready to have your much coveted award bestowed

    I really like the way that this lense is organised and the huge variety of topics that are covered.

    This is a really splendid lens of groups! I just strated my first group, Real Food, Real Living. It is a very specifically targeted group, not an "all recipes" group at all, all all lenses are featured. I hope you enjoy it too!

    I have included this great lens on my "Promote Squidoo Online" lens. I have also made a travel lens with my favorite travel groups. I really like lenses that feature or at least post in some form at least 15 lenses if they have that many. It isn't worth the outside public's time to go to a group lens that has 5 lenses!! It is a bit frustrating to see that the group has 40 lenses and there are three featured. Where is the lensmaster?

    Anyway this lens gives me more ideas than I had before I viewed it. Thanks.

    Groups, what do we do with them? I just went though the list of groups where I have some lens and consequently left 9 of them. Why did I join them in the first place? All I can say is - false advertising. There are only a few groups that are worth joining it seems - so many others appear to be to list the lensmasters efforts only (and some of the efforts could do with more effort, a lot more effort)

    Excellent resource. I was able to join a few groups that I was unaware of. I'm trying my best to put my Squidoo lenses on steroids to increase my earnings. (Providing for 7 kids is really expensive. LOL!) Lenses like this save me lots of time. Thanks again.

    Thank you so much for featuring my Gothic Temptations group here. It's one of my personal favorites and I love reading the interesting lenses submitted there. Nice to know my work there is appreciated.

    Please give the URL of the group. Finding groups in squidoo is quite hard. I have to warn you though: large groups and general groups have a harder time getting on here. I am really into niche groups.

    I admit that one of the areas that I need to spend a lot more time on is groups. I became disillusioned very early on in my Squid life because as you say, a lot of groups are just not worth the time! Thank you for putting this together. I have favorited it to come back to.

    Well, I want to belong, I will study the criteria and give you my best. I do appreciate that you are going for the quality because the so so groups make me wonder what is the point of groups. In fact, when I 'apply' and am automatically accepted, I am disappointed because I feel like I wasted my time.

I'm a member of many groups and get am greatly disappointed when I go to visit them and find the pages are NEVER, EVER updated, and some have disappeared.
